Part 1:
In just one year. Remember the election in 2006?
Thought you might like to read the following:
A little over one year ago:

1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:

1) Consumer confidence plummet
2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3.50 a gallon
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase)
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses)
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars
6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

America voted for change in 2006, and we got it!

Remember: it's Congress that makes law, not the President. He has to work with what's handed to him.

Quote of the Day........"My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it." -- Barack Obama

Part 2:

Taxes...Whether Democrat or a Republican you will find these statistics enlightening and amazing.
www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/151.html Taxes under Clinton 1999 Taxes under Bush 2008
Single making 30K: tax $8,400 Single making 30K: tax $4,500
Single making 50K: tax $14,000 Single making 50K: tax $12,500
Single making 75K: tax $23,250 Single making 75K: tax $18,750
Married making 60K: tax $16,800 Married making 60K: tax $9,000
Married making 75K: tax $21,000 Married making 75K: tax $18,750
Married making 125K: tax $38,750 Married making 125K: tax $31,250

Both democratic candidates will return to the higher tax rates.

It is amazing how many people that fall into the categories above think Bush is screwing them and Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever.
If Obama or Hillary is elected, they both say they will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion of the people that fall into the categories above can't wait for it to happen. This is like the movie The Sting with Paul Newman; you scam somebody out of some money and they don't even know what happened.

PART 3:
You think the war in Iraq is costing us too much?
Read this:
Boy am I confused. I have been hammered with the propaganda that it is the Iraq war and the war on terror that is bankrupting us.
I now find that to be RIDICULOUS.
I hope the following 14 reasons are forwarded over and over again until they are read so many times that the reader gets sick of reading them. I have included the URL's for verification of all the following facts.

1. $11 Billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year by state governments. Verify at: http://tinyurl.com/zob77

9. $200 Billion Dollars a year in suppressed American wages are caused by the illegal aliens. Verify at:
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0604/01/ldt.01.html

10. The illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that's two and a half times that of white non-illegal aliens. In particular, their children are going to make a huge additional crime problem in the US
Verify at: http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0606/12/ldt.01.html

11. During the year of 2005 there were 4 to 10 MILLION illegal aliens that crossed our southern border also, as many as 19,500 illegal aliens from terrorist countries. Millions of pounds of drugs, cocaine, meth, heroin and marijuana, crossed into the U. S from the southern border.
Verify at: Homeland Security Report: http://tinyurl.com/t9sht
12. The National Policy Institute "estimated that the total cost of mass deportation would be between $206 and $230 billion or an average cost of between $41 and $46 billion annually over a five year period."

All this just didn't take place in ONE YEAR.

What about all these previous years of Bush?

And besides....all you Rep's claimed that Bush inherited a bad situation from Clinton...that nothing was his fault as it all began to unravel.

He had a fully Rep Congress for support for his whole term EXCEPT this last year.

Now all these years later......you want to blame it all on just 12 months!!!

That dog won't hunt....sorry!!

Go back and read that again. The demo group took over in 2006. Things weren't bad until then.

I guess you think Bush's veto power is all telling?

We are headed right back to the gawd awful mess the demoes had us in before. This time I will be on the other end of the double digit inflation problem, and paying a heck of a lot more taxes.

When Pelosi gets done robbing all the rich, who's she gonna have left to rob? She can fork it all out to the bums on the streets. Maybe they'll pay their cell phone bills.

it flat amazes me how blind and ignorant some people can be to the plain and simple truth. Dems tax and spend, take from the haves, give to the have nots. they think they are Robin Hood, but really are just hoods.

all it takes to piss off a lib is say Clinton was a bad President. they accept him as a wate of a human being, admit he is a pimple on the ass of life, but to even think he was a bad President is appalling to them.....

Your ignornance is truly amazing. The last national election was November 2006. Dems took control of Congress in 2007. That's less than 16 months ago.

"On the Tuesday following the first Monday in November of every even-numbered year, elections are held for all 435 members of the United States House of Representatives and 33 or 34 of the 100 members of the United States Senate. However, Presidential elections occur only every four years. Those elections for Congress that do not coincide with Presidential races are called midterm elections, because they occur about midway through a Presidential term." from Wikipedia.

I guess you think Bush's veto power is all telling?

Who knows? He never used it until the Republican Congress realized their ass was grass and they better start worrying about losing control of Congress. Since the Dems have been in control, he's used it quite a bit.

We are headed right back to the gawd awful mess the demoes had us in before. This time I will be on the other end of the double digit inflation problem, and paying a heck of a lot more taxes.

We are not headed anywhere. We're in a recession. A recession brought on by the unbridled spending of a Republican Congress and President AND unbridled greed of the oil companies. The last Democratic president left us with a projected tax surplus, the first one in decades. It took Bush less than two years to run that into a deficit. A deficit that has grown to levels even worse that Reagan (another sainted conservative) left us. But, hey, it took one President Clinton to clean up behind the last Bush; the next President Clinton can surely do the same.

When Pelosi gets done robbing all the rich, who's she gonna have left to rob? She can fork it all out to the bums on the streets. Maybe they'll pay their cell phone bills.

Surprise, surprise. The bill for the conservative spending rampage is coming due. We'll all pay our share. But I guess if you didn't even know when elections were held last, I shouldn't be surprised that you don't think bills have to be paid.

OK, wise and sighted one, please explain to me how we have the largest Federal Deficit in generations when the Republicans held both Congress and the White House for six of Bush's eight year term? I'm really interested in this one.

Yeah, we libs tend to hate stupidity. And anyone who looks at the condition of this country when Clinton left office and the condition of this country now and say Bush is a better president is obviously stupid. Federal Surplus, respect of world leaders, gasoline prices less than $2 a gallon, relative peace in the world. Damn, I just can't stand how much better it is today now that we're trillions of dollars in debt, in a recession, Russia is thumbing their nose at us, we're fighting two wars, value of the dollar is sinking like a rock, home foreclosures are at record levels, the Army is taking convicted felons, a gallon of gasoline costs almost $4..... Need I go on?

THe only things deflating are housing prices which were way to high in the first place. Trucks are getting cheap too.

Go to the grocery store and buy something. Then come back on here and tell us prices are deflating and we are in a recession. People are hording rice right now. They are willing to pay the inflated prices.

You are going to have to quit listening to the media talk out of both sides of their mouths. Just go grocery shopping and you'll indeed see who is ignorant, first hand.

I am not as wise and sighted as Jigs, but you do realize that Clinton left us with a larger national debt than when he took office???????? Bet you will not acknowledge this, because libs don't seem to ever.

Then you have interest on this debit, the only way the debit will keep from growing is if it is paid down and no more added. Clinton did not do this, his debt was higher when he left office than when he took office.

So Clinton spent more money when he was in office than he made, then he cut military, avoided fights with the terrorist all to save a buck. Then when Bush gets in office, he inherits all the shuffling of the problems in the drawer and he was forced to deal with them. Bush had Katrina, Iraq, Afghanistan that Clinton did not have. Bush inherited a Recession from Clinton and brought America out of it in record speed even with the financial strain of 911.

We can put up %'s all day long.paint the picture anyway you want but its the folks out there living this debacle...

The US dollar has lost so much ground it is no longer the world currency.

Homes being taken away, because mom and dad cant meet the payments..

Sick children not get proper treatment not because mom and dad do not have money, they just do not have enough money....

Gas prices so high that goods can no longer be shipped by frieght trucks anymore...

Iraq still squeezes even more money from the coffers...

Many of you complain about mexicans, yet all the border changes have affected Canadians more then the mexican's..

I just can not believe how some here go out of their way to protect the decision that your leader has made..

Soapweed I will ask you this question...Do you think the overall job done by the Bush Admin.has been a job well done? Do you believe one man, after killing over 6000 people and draining trillions of dollars of a countries wealth and never being brought to justice is not only unbelievable but also not show incompatance leadership by the sherrif in charge of reeling in the perp?

I have people I care about who are Americans..If they lose a job and their medical goes too. How can they make it with doctor bill and perscriptions that their children need, yet prisoners can get free care?

.You can cast blame or not cast blame, but to say this presidency did noithing wrong is at the very least lacking responsiblity to see the whole picture...

Soapweed,You may be safe in your little corner of the world, but Mr Bush and his merry men have successfully stopped the real Dream for most Americans..It is no longer the pursuit of happiness,it is now the pursuit of survival.

The sad thing is,The war on terror was to make Americans sleep better at night....try telling that to the fathers and mothers lying awake all night simply worrying about thier own children, inside their own country...

PS yes Aplus I know I am Canadian. But there are Americans I care dearly about and they should be happy not living in fear each time a child sneezes...You may think our medical systems is bad,but i will tell you this..I would rather my country go broke keeping my countrymen healthy, then go broke spending money on and inside another country...

I really wish you would spread the word around the world about how terrible things are here in the U.S. so we would not have so many people flocking to come here and live. Maybe if these other countries would take care of their own economies we would not have a strain put on ours by having to be the worlds welfare stop.

The way I see things with my simplistic view, is that the root of all our problems is our dependence on foreign oil. This made the USA jump on the ethanol bandwagon, which uses food for fuel. Bad idea. It is the Democrats and greenie-weenies who shut down oil drilling and the making of any new oil refineries in our own country. Therefore I will continue to place blame where blame is due, which is none other than with the Democrats, Liberals, and pseudo-environmentalists. The emphasis is on pseudo, which means "fake." The real environmentalists are the farmers and ranchers who realize that if we take care of the land, it will take care of us. The so-called "environmentalists" (greenie-weenies) don't have a clue. They just like to live in their asphalt jungles and try to tell the rest of us how to farm, ranch, and dispose of horses that don't belong to them. :(

Sad thing is that these global warming-environmental idiot Liberals are the ones doing more harm than anyone else.

It is States like California and New York and Cities like that NYC and LA that do more harm to the environment than my whole state of Kansas.

Look at the Blue states and especially the ones with the Big cities in them, if their is Global Warming they can bear the blunt of the blame, rural areas like most of us live in are the ones that are producing the filter system for all them Libs to live the way they do.

John McCain

:???:

How many time do you have to read it to see that most people on here are not very happy with McCain as a choice and most are not real happy with Bush either. You call us all Neocons because we are smart enough to know the lesser of two evils.

Bush was the lesser of the Evil between himself and Gore
Bush was the lesser of the Evil between himself and Kerry

And McCain is the lesser of the evil between himself and Obama or Hillary

I may be wrong but I have never heard any conservative on here act excited about McCain, you are the only one I heard of say they thought McCain was there man at one time. Most of us have known all along how he was, it just took the Liberal media to tell you before you turned on him.

I think Most conservatives on here support Bush on his War on Terror efforts and will do the same with McCain, but after that most of us will be pretty disappointed.

So tell me since you one time thought McCain was the answer, and the media changed your mind, will you pick between obama or Hillary or will you wait and see who the media tells you to vote for?

You drink so much kool-aid that I bet you have purple libs 24-7
