A long overdue introduction to y'all

Well, I'm sure most of you have seen me prowling around this site and you may have gathered I'm conservative leaning. Well, to answer some of your questions and properly introduce myself, I am the young owner of MYT Farms. I'm a freshman this year and raise both BLACK ANGUS and Quarter Horses. I'm partial to blacks; even my only horse is black. I like trying to raise sweet corn here in frigid, thin aired Colorado, show cattle, and dreaming of moving back to the farm my parents own in Iowa. Anyhow, I'm crazy 'bout tractors, cows, corn, and grass. I figured this site would be a great place to discuss the actually important stuff like ranching with others who feel the same way about this American way of life. I certainly love the tight knit community I see here and would like to join. Well, thanks for your precious time I've taken out of your day, and once again, a warm hello.

Thank you to the both of you! However, here in Colorado, it can get awful hard to get even puddles to jump in! LOL. Once again, thanks. I can't wait to learn. Hopefully most of it 'll be contructive.

Well, aha, I can't help but laugh cause I very seldom ride or go anywhere with my hat on! I usually wear a Cabella's cap, my favorite cattle company cap, or the cap from some college. As for my cowboy hat, I wear a palm leaf to the Ranch Horse Versatility competitions complete with green and tan chinks and a black headstall. Oh yes, and black reins.

Thanks again! To answer Jassy's question is simple: This year, there was not hardly any water or grass to speak of in Colorado. In Iowa, there is ponds everywhere with grass up to your knees. Sure makes you wish you had grass n' water like that! Once again, thank you all.

Hello there MYT. We like to think of this lifestyle as a North American one especially as we are all in the same boat.We share a lot of the same ideas in a common business and politics aside the only thing that seriously seperates us is an invisible line. Welcome aboard.

From Canada, I see! :D Well, very good. I really like some of your guys' theories on raising cattle. Really like the hardiness I've read about for Canadian cattle. Actually, until lately, I never really considered the fact that there were ranchers in Canada! Well, once again, glad to be here, and thank you. :)

I sure hope us folk at ranchers can expand your horizons. :) Lots of places and ways to raise cattle. No one right or wrong way just lots of different ones. Listen and learn, don't be afraid to ask questions and be sincere and you will get lots of good advice. we will even call someone if we think they are steering you wrong. :)

Well, thanks BMR! Well, I have been exposed a plenty to different ways of raising cattle. You figure out there's more than one way when you raise Kit Pharo stuff! That's not the only type I raise, thank you, and I am pretty open minded for the most part. Well, the MOST part. Anyways, thanks again and good luck with your pipe fencing!

Welcome aboard, mytfarms.

Spent my childhood in CO, went to CSU for 2 years. I've spent some of my life in Westminster, Sterling but mostly Ft. Collins.
Then moved up here to MT. Wouldn't trade you states for all the money in the world, I remember bumper stickers in the 70's saying, "Don't Californicate Colorado". I think that's happened  My family is still in CO.
Keep true to yourself here! There are lots of things to learn and lots of things you can share with us.

Again, welcome aboard! :D
