A month late

Imagine that, our first major snow didn't come in September this year. About 3 inches of wet stuff on the ground this morning. It should bring a few stragglers out of the bush.

What are you tracking, cows? or anything that moves :p

Cows intentionally but we are seeing too many wolf tracks again. Deb was a little to close for comfort to a grizz today. All is well. I also saw a big bull moose today.

Miocene, Deb uses Ol' Red, the green broke colt is well started now. Haven't saddled a horse in over a year.

I haven't been on a horse in five years but still do plenty of cow chasing and usually end up with the critter i'm after where i want it .with out to much foot work.although that may be healthier according to afew suggestions i've been getting.

Shepard from Manning sent me a photo of his cows knee deep in snow this morning.

It was a nice afternoon to gather cows in blowing snow. Ended up with another inch today. -15C this morning, thawed a bit at noon and then the storm came through. I hazard to guess that a 4-wheeler is warmer to ride than a saddle horse in this weather.

Headed out to a memorial for an old friend tommorow, maybe the weather will improve by Monday.

Did you get all your bales yarded?

Yep.

And by the looks of things, just in time to start rolling them out. If the weather doesn't get worse we have 2 months grass left. Hopefully we can use it.

Having riddin' both, I'm not sure which is more painful frozen hands from the handle bars or frozen feet from the stirrups.

Hope you have good weather for your friends' memorial.
