Message of fear... from Obama... what happened to Yes We Can..

now it is we can't get out of this mess..

recently on another thread a conservative said... Obama should act more like Reagan or at least go back to keep his message of hope , and it was shot down by gloom and doom and fear..

I am not going to waste the time to look it up but what happened to Obama.. what happened to we are not going to play into fear... what happened?... reality... or Obama hired Karl Rove...

"We have nothing to fear but Fear itself".. seems to come to mind..

her is what we are not hearing in our media,. but I hear every day.. while I don't hang out at OT's dismal cafe'

I do see alot of business men over the course of week... most are busy... but feel as if held up projects are a dam that is going up block by block.. work held up by uncertainty..

and today most of that uncertainty is coming from Obama...

Cold feet

, Katie Tyler, is also playing a waiting game.

Businesswoman Katie Tyler wants to hear positive words from Mr Obama

She has been running a construction company - Tyler2 Construction - for more than 20 years and has a record number of contracts on her books.

The trouble is, the clients are getting cold feet; the contracts are being put on hold.

She is not paying herself a wage, at the moment, and may even have to give her staff an extended period of leave.

"Somebody's waiting for something to happen, but no-one knows what it is," she says.

Ms Tyler is an independent voter who decided to support Barack Obama in November's election and gave over office space to his presidential campaign.

But she is not happy with the new president's tone, as he warns of the dire consequences of not passing the $800bn-plus economic stimulus package.

"I wouldn't say I'm totally disillusioned but - yes - I feel he's already slipped in his first two, three weeks in office," she says.

"That's disheartening to me. I've already seen a change in him from the absolutely 'Yes, we can' to the far less positive statement."

Businesswoman Katie Tyler says the best form of economic stimulus would be for the president to recapture the "Yes, we can" spirit that got him elected.

He needs to be constantly telling us it's making a difference and pretty soon we're going to start believing it.

"And when we start believing it, it's going to happen."

I agree with Ms. Tyler especially her last statement. Its amazing how much difference it makes when the glass is half full rather than half empty.

The Campaigning is over  Obama is a fearmongering leader, that thinks the only way is HIS WAY.

That is the only way to explain why a so called LEADER would take peoples emotions stomps them into the ground with a message of total dispair, make them feel as if there is absolutely no hope, then says the only way out and it is by following him and doing exactly what you are told and don't bother to think for yourself as he knows what is best for you.

He wants his package to pass by Presidents day and the only way of doing that is to get people to just stop thinking for themselves and stop looking at it and pass it. The more pressure he can get put on the Congress by US voters to work faster the less time they will have to disect the package like it should be. I would have thought the US Congress and citizens would have learned the lesson on fast tracking bills through the government when the first Bank Bail Out money that the Dems and Obama supported was wasted and didn't do what it was to do.

Obama is betting everything on this package. If this STIMULUS package doesn't get the economy going in the next 18 months like he promised expect to see a lot more fearmongering excuses and tossing of people under the bus.

Narcissism describes the trait of excessive self-love, based on self-image or ego.

The term is derived from the Greek mythology of Narcissus. Narcissus was a handsome Greek youth who rejected the desperate advances of the nymph Echo. As punishment, he was doomed to fall in love with his own reflection in a pool of water. Unable to consummate his love, Narcissus pined away and changed into the flower that bears his name, the narcissus.
Narcissus by Caravaggio
A Boeotian hero whose archaic myth was a cautionary tale warning boys against being cruel to their lovers.

In psychology and psychiatry, excessive narcissism is recognized as a severe personality dysfunction or personality disorder, most characteristically narcissistic personality disorder, also referred to as NPD.

The terms narcissism, narcissistic, and narcissist are often used as pejoratives, denoting vanity, conceit, egotism or simple selfishness. Applied to a social group, it is sometimes used to denote elitism or an indifference to the plight of others.

Sigmund Freud believed that some narcissism is an essential part of all of us from birth and was the first to use the term in the reference to psychology.[1]

You mean you agree with this statement:

"And when we start believing it, it's going to happen."

What's really amazing is that some people only feel that way NOW. I don't remember some people having that attitude all the time prior to the election when they were whining every day because "GW can't spell the R word."

You liberals spent months and months talking the economy down. And now you want all of us to join you in talking it back up? What a crock...

Speaking of fearmongering, I wonder why some of the liberals are so quiet when Obama tries to use fear to push his agenda? Didn't they gripe for months about "GW" doing that? Don't they gripe when all conservatives do that?

Maybe it's only fearmongering when a "rightwingnut" does it...

Hypocrisy is the leading number one trait of a Liberal right with gullible following closely in second place!
