A question to the religious here.

This is an honest question.

I asked this of some folks here @ home , so I'll throw this out to you, just as I asked folks here.
Understand this is formed ' regionally'.... but you'll get the point.

Why would you God fearing, Southern Baptist thru and thru people vote for a man whose wife owns a company who makes prob half the beer consumed in this country?

**Note Baptist here will have NO PART ( at least where others can see them!!) in partaking of ANY beverage that has ANY degree of alcohol and if you do...it's a straight ticket to HELL and DAMNATION**

This area is DRY DRY DRY DRY. A few small restaurants might have a beer & wine licenses granted....but when no one shows up at the business to eat....they soon pack up and leave town,

I'd like to see some of your thoughts....as I got some doozies here at home!!

The company she owns does not make the beer but merly distrubites it, so to use that as a reason not to vote for anyone is like shooting yourself in the foot.
Wal mart sells liquor and beer and wines, yet the Baptists shop there!
The corner drug store sell condums that are not always used by married couples, yet the baptists have no problem getting their prescriptions filled there.
The list could go on and on, and I know that you are going to say that it is like comparing apples and oranges, but is it really?
To condemn someone for there business practices or ownership is like wanting to crawl into a hole and live in darkness.

If she owned a good Whiskey distillery he would have my vote immediately as a man with brains enough to position himself well...

I never thought about that- but it is interesting....Doesn't affect us up here much as we don't have too many real Bible Thumping Babtists- and being next to Canada still have residual runover from their drinking habits to consume quite a bit (I think the State is still in the top 5 for per capita booze consumed)...
But I could see where that could be a point- not only with Baptists, but the Mormons....

And you'd rather have a man with no experience and muslim connections for president than a man whose wife just happened to be lucky enough to inherit a beer distributorship? Get a grip, girl.

She does not own a company that makes prob half the beer in the USA.

Hensley Distributors is not Anheiser-Busch, but they distribute the product.

Among others.

The Southern Baptists I know consume as much beer as any other religion, besides Catholics.

Just not in public!

You never heard the joke about taking a Baptist preacher fishing?

1- "You can't take a Baptist preacher fishing, because he'll drink all your beer up".

2- "Take 2 of them fishing and they'll watch each other like a hawk and won't drink a drop"

Seriously, the Baptists I know don't think it's a sin to drink an occasional brew, but they do believe it's a sin to neglect your family because of it.

And on top of that- peddling a foreign owned product that has made its legacy on calling itself "America's Beer" :???: One more step in the Bush Legacy of selling America one piece at a time..... :(

Budweiser could pay price for being "America's Beer"Thu Jun 12, 2008 5:27pm EDT

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Budweiser spends nearly half a billion dollars a year promoting itself as America's beer -- a pitch that could soon get a lot tougher to make.

For decades, St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch Cos Inc (BUD.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) has pushed its Budweiser and Bud Light brands to mainstream America with an award-winning mix of campaigns that are hardly subtle in their patriotism.

The company uses red, white and blue as its colors; it employs soldiers, Clydesdale horses, and stock cars in its advertising. One past slogan announced: "American owned. Brewed here. Born here." A current ad declares that its beer is a "Great American Lager."

The branding may not be so easy to maintain if Anheuser-Busch is taken over by Belgium's InBev NV (INTB.BR: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), which has made a roughly $46 billion bid for its U.S. rival.

Jesus made wine and he was without sin. He made good wine and made about 250 gallons of it on a single occasion. He could of made juice, milk, honey, spring water, gatorade, etc... but he made wine. With that in mind, how can anybody argue that making (or distributing) alcohol is a sin?

she's actually doing god's work by distributing the evil brew. this way god can separate the righteous from the wicked on judgment day. it's easy to rationalize anything into god's will if you follow this board long enough. rotflmao.

Yep- I miss ole RR- Red Robin- Reverend Right  ...A lot of times I didn't agree with what he said and/or his philosophy on it- but enjoyed his passion in his beliefs....

I hope the direction the nations politics are going hasn't led to his hiding away in some far distant Ozark Mountain monastary or something   :p
