A Question......

Why is Obahmah talked about in the main stream media as president- elect????? I don't remember when George W was first elected he was called "president-elect" Bush. I also don't remember all the stories of how "president-elect Bush" was getting all of this "transition" information from Clinton. I think the main stream media are scrambling to get the voters of the great US of A on Obama's side because the main stream media made a mistake on pushing voters to vote for Obama.

If I am wrong, please correct me. I just don't remember newly elected Presidents being called President-Elect even though it is a proper term.

That's because the media was busy trying to explain away the juvenile behavior of the Clinton team as it left with the keyboard W's, hard drives and china.. maybe now that Obama is bringing the Clinton "retread" team back, they can return the stuff they pilfered.. and fix everything they sabotaged..

That president-elect term has been used frequently before.

Main stream media is sort of cramming it down everyone's throat.

So far, I haven't heard, "No matter what you may think of him, he is your president..." from any figure head in the media yet.

I might even grow a liking for Rush after this fool is in the white house.

Bush was very late being called a President-Elect because of the frivolous lawsuits and the challenges to the bogus recounts in Florida.

I don't think it was even decided and think Gore conceded maybe late December?

The term president-elect has ben used many times before. I think today there is a lot of aprehension about what Obama will really do. I think now there is a lot of skepticism about the in-experienced Obama. Now the media is trying to cover that up, by putting emphasize on his selection of a staff. In another five months or so the media will be trying to tell us what he has done in his first 100 days. If history is any prediction, he will not get much done through congressional help that soon. This looking at the first 100 days goes back to Roosevelt's time. Roosevelt made many changes in his first 100 days, because of the situation back in 1933. When you really go back and look at it, much was done by executive order, Congress moves to slow. Roosevelt expanded and reorganized some already existing programs. A National Finance Corporation was already in place, Roosevelt just changed it from government loans to grants. His inaugeration back then was in March. There were serious runs on the banks the months before he took office. Many states had already called bank holidays, he took the advise of others, to declare a national bank. holiday. It turned out to be the right thing to do. We are hoping for some more of the same kind of good luck.

Yeah it was a 4 day bank holiday....he froze the accounts of everyone. But it worked out in the long run.
