A quote worth remembering

The White House Press Secretary speaks about accusations from Richard Clarke's book. From the White House Daily Briefing - March 22, 2004:

"Well, why, all of a sudden, if he had all these grave concerns, did he not raise these sooner? This is one-and-a-half years after he left the administration. And now, all of a sudden, he's raising these grave concerns that he claims he had. And I think you have to look at some of the facts. One, he is bringing this up in the heat of a presidential campaign. He has written a book and he certainly wants to go out there and promote that book. Certainly let's look at the politics of it."

And now he has since apologized to Richard Clarke for his calling him a liar.....
Yep--some folks are just not cut out to be politicians or involved with them-- they have a conscience - and can recognize right from wrong- and things like principles.....And McClellan can see the Bush castle is crumbling and better start admitting to and explaining their actions before they come out in Congressional testimony or Court....

McClellan says he now recognizes he was wrong- and was being used as the Joseph Goebbells propoganda minister of the Bush war machine-much like Hitler and Goebbells told the world that Poland had attacked Germany-- and can now see that Clarke was right:

Clarke charged that before and during the 9/11 crisis, many in the administration were distracted from efforts against Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda organization by a pre-occupation with Iraq and Saddam Hussein. Clarke had written that on September 12, 2001, President Bush pulled him and a couple of aides aside and "testily" asked him to try to find evidence that Saddam Hussein was connected to the terrorist attacks. In response he wrote a report stating there was no evidence of Iraqi involvement and got it signed by all relevant agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the CIA.

The paper was quickly returned by a deputy with a note saying "Please update and resubmit". After initially denying that such meeting and request between the President and Clarke took place, the White House later reversed its denial when others present backed Clarke's version of the events.

Yeah, Oldtimer - blah, blah, blah. You'll fall for anything that fits into your Bush-bash agenda. Have you ever noticed that? The rest of us sure have. You don't even look for objectivity if it fits your agenda.

You're quick to believe anything and everything if it fits your pre-conceived notions. You just march in lockstep with Moveon.org. That's where you have lost credibility.

OT has plenty of credibility here on this board. It's you Bush lovers who have lost whatever credibility you might have had.

Maybe you should do a poll?

What you Bush-bashers have trouble getting through your heads is that those of us who support the President on some issues are often the first ones to condemn him on others.

OOPS Did I sin by saying something against your cultist IDOL :???:  :p  I guess that means you think I need to say 25 Hail Georges in repentence -Eh :???:

The fact is that King George lost his credibility not only with me- but with the American people- for the very same reasons that are now coming out in the open- his deception and deceit...Don't fault me for having seen it sooner than others.....

As far as a Bash Bush agenda looking for bad things that he does-- name me one good thing he has done and done right :???:

No, Oldtimer. What you've done is just what we've come to expect from you. You jump on anything that is critical of the President and accept it as gospel without further research. Any quote from anybody - anything you even read on a liberal blog. If it fits in with your beliefs, you never look any further.

You'll believe anything. In fact, you'll even say anything. Like your claims that President Bush has ties to drug money. You never provided anything to back that up. Credibility, Oldtimer.

Yep- and Bush has developed an M.O.- a road map- that starts out with accusations against him- which he or his proganda minister for the month denies- which then more evidence comes out against- and finally GW then has to admit to or get some flunky (Libby) to take the fall....This has happened time after time- and is happening now in the Congressional hearings on some serious events that could be impeachable crimes....

This just fits right into the pattern of his entire presidency.....Big Money rules with GW- and it does not appear as if it matters the source of that big money.....

Are you really that ignorant to believe this man has a conscience? Come on even if he is telling the truth about the facts, he has no conscience. How long did it take him to wise up? And get a conscience? He could not figure all this out when he was working for the President and had access to more info?

McClellan is pretty well like you on here, even if he is correct in what he says he has no crediability so who cares what he says. And much like you have nothing new to add than what can be cut and pasted from far left blogs McClellan has nothing new to say that has not already been said.

But unlike you I will look at the upside to all this, maybe you far left loonies will go buy his book and help keep the economy rolling along and keep the upward movement going even stronger
