a good young cowboy----and a salebarn jockey
from out on the flat----where its not very rocky
east of Chariton----on state hwy #34
on the north side of the road----was a livestock auction & cattle galore
the owners had given orders----to saddle his horse
the obedient young cowboy----had did so with remorse
as a dark thick cloud----came in from the north
a thunder storm had arrived----rain and hail back and forth
as he adjusted his rain gear----the owners, they scorned
round-up those cattle----we have a sale in the morn
with clouds a git'n darker----a ponder'n whats ahead
then a huge bolt of lighting----and 6 cattle drop dead
with his ears a ring'n----he turned on a dime
galloped back to the barn----its yur turn this time!!!!

I was picking up A'I one time-I headed to the yard for something when I got back I had three dead cows about 50 yards from the A'I corrals. I postponed morning breeding for a bit. The worst storm I ever rode in was south of BMR's on the U'S side of the line-you don't want to be on a hilltop in that country in a thunder/lightning shower.
