A setup: Presidential debate moderators are all liberals.
Why? Because liberals picked them.
The moderators for this year’s presidential and vice presidential debates were announced this week, and perhaps you noticed a pattern. All four work for liberal-leaning news organizations.
First presidential debate:
Jim Lehrer, Executive Editor of the PBS NewsHour
Wednesday, October 3, University of Denver, Denver, CO
Vice presidential debate:
Martha Raddatz, Senior Foreign Affairs Correspondent, ABC News
Thursday, October 11, Centre College, Danville, KY
Second presidential debate (town meeting):
Candy Crowley, Chief Political Correspondent, CNN and Anchor, CNN’s State of the Union
Tuesday, October 16, Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY
Third presidential debate:
Bob Schieffer, Chief Washington Correspondent, CBS News and Moderator, Face the Nation
Monday, October 22, Lynn University, Boca Raton, FL
Actually, there’s no surprise here at all. It’s just about the same thing every four years. Last year, for example, we got PBS (twice!), CBS and NBC. So, from last year, one of two PBS moderators was dropped in favor of CNN. CBS stayed the same. One liberal broadcast network (NBC) was replaced by another liberal broadcast network (ABC).
How’s that for diversity!
So why are all the moderators left-wingers? Simple. Nearly all the nine members of the Commission on Presidential Debates, who choose the moderators, are active liberals.
The co-chairs are Michael D. McCurry, former spokesman for Bill Clinton,
and Frank J. Fahrenkopf, president of a casino trade group.
Members include Antonia Hernandez, a member of the liberal American Constitutional Society;
Howard Buffett, son of billionaire Obama booster Warren Buffett;
Richard Parsons, a former chief of Citigroup and long-time friend of Obama;
John Jenkins, the president of Notre Dame who invited Obama to speak despite fierce Catholic opposition;
Dorothy Ridings, president of the liberal-leaning Council on Federations; and Newton Minow, liberal-leaning former chairman of the FCC.
add in a leftest media reporting on the debate, and Romney and Ryan will have their work cut out for them...
can we get Newt to step in? at least then it would be worth watching...
