A Sunday full of Blessings

This has been a pretty good day.....

This Afternoon, we got a call from a lady who has a small pasture we rent just down the road. She said two of our three cows calved today......

We go down there and immediately see three cows and three calves....One cow I had bought last year as a Butcher cow for a small Mexican Grocery Store I had been buying for. I kept her back as she looked calvy.....She gave me twins last year and had not quite cleaned out. So I go out into the pasture to take a look...

I see I have one bull Calf and two hiefers.....The wife notices something in the grass away from the other cattle....We go look and it is another Bull Calf...She not only twinned again, but did it on the first day of our Fall Calving season....

We got the calf up and he ran to her and started nursing...Yep, 3 cows, 4 healthy calves and they all got up and nursed....

It has been a good summer. The Farmers market deal takes off, we gain a restaurant as a customer.....People come up to us all the time and compliment us on the great Beef we produce....

Yet, I know of nothing as satisfying as seeing heathy calves on the ground. Especially the first ones of a season. The feeling that you have good cows doing a good job for you....

As I walked out of the pasture, I contmeplated what the blessings of this day mean....I had a great day at church and felt filled.....I am one of Gods Children....I am so lucky to have the wife I do...I am a very fortunate Husband....And in third place, I feel very satisfied by these calves...More so than the Beef deal which is very satisfying....After being one of Gods Children and a husband, I am happy to say I am a Cowman....And so blessed by the feeling of it all,
