Three years after invading Iraq, after listening President Bush tell us how good things were going, how many Iraqi Army and police units were being trained and ready to "step up so we can step down", billions spent in the training, we're sending more Americans to Iraq. I hope none of you are surprised. Link below; my emphasis:

"The U.S. military is dispatching an Army battalion of about 700 soldiers to Iraq from their base in Kuwait to provide extra security during the holiday of Ashura, three military officers said Wednesday.

The move, which has not been publicly announced, comes amid a spike in sectarian violence and expectations that it likely will remain a problem as fractious Iraqi political leaders attempt to form a new government.

The 1st Armored Division battalion is expected to move into Iraq in the next few days, one officer said. The two officers who confirmed the move spoke on condition of anonymity because it has not yet been officially announced."

Hey, I think I just figger'd out who dis is.

Can you say, Osama, boys and girls?

With the incompetent bunch running this country, Osama Bin Laden may indeed be posting on this board or living down the road from you. Does anyone remember President Bush assuring the world that he'd get Bin Laden? He got Saddam, who was no threat to this country, but Bin Laden is still out there somewhere. Iran is a real threat to the world... But Bush got Saddam. Thousands are dying in Darfur....But Bush got Saddam.

honestly, Dis, it is people like you in this country that make me feel more unsecure than the radical fruit loops like Osama. It is waco liberals who run around and point out little trivial things and blow them up into big balls of bullshit.

you are like chicken little. of course things are bad over there....it is a war zone. and those people know only one thing. killing. they have been doing it for years, the Saddam took over and ran a country that makes the Nazis look like boy scouts. Bush went in and took out the big threat, and now it will take time to mop up the little piss ant trouble makers. Get off your ass and do something posative in the war effort. if the USa had people like you in WWII we would all be eating sushi and kraut for supper.

you are a disgrace to my country.

yup jigs, thaty just pretty much sums it up. I agree wholeheartedly.

People like dis should be put away for treasonous talk. Loose lips sink ships.

They are all whiners and cowards and the best thing that could happen to them is to be put in a situation where they have to fight or die. Then maybe they would get an understanding of the real world and what the good soldiers of this country went thru' so they could bitch and complain.

It makes me sick that good people fought and dies so people like dis could trash talk about how bad we are. I still think they should follow ol' Merle's advice, love it or leave it.

But I am proud to live in a country where loud mouth wacko's like dis can freely spout off all the gunk and junk that comes out of there mouths. They live in the greatest country in the world and can do nothing to help, they just stand around and whine!

I have a tight rope to walk. I am 100% pro gun, and support the war, and think God can sort em out. But my wife's family are all Mennonites

I get myself in some pretty bad situations when they discuss the war.
they use the religous convictions as a reason not to fight, but refuse to acknowledge that 90%of the wars we have fought throughout history are based on a religous reason.

I told them that it was ignorant to use the very constitution to defend your beliefs, that you in turn are not willing to fight for or defend. they went around and around on the reasons against war, and finally I told them that it was ok. they did not need to defend the country. but they sure are lucky to be related to me.....the one guy in the family who owns enough guns to kill any terrorist that is coming to harm us.

they just looked at me in disbelief. said I should never take another's life. But I replied that when a group terrorist pulls thier guns on us, you distract him with your theories and values while I am reloading!!!

( we don't get together very often.....they probably think I need to bathe in Holy Water)

Every war is a civil war. All Bush did was re-ignite Iraq's civil war.

As other nations get involved in other people's civil wars, it spreads the civil war.

That is all we are witnessing today. That is all WWII was about. That was all the American Revolution was about.

Free speech has always existed, but the intellectual tyranny of the status quo has always existed, too. You don't need guns to protect freedom of speech, you need an open mind. OK STEVEC, I WAS WITH YOU UNTIL RIGHT ABOUT HERE. LETS SEE YOU WALK UP TO SOMEONE WITH A LOADED GUN WHO IS SHOOTING AT YOU AND TELL HIM, "LAY DOWN YOUR WEAPONS, FOR I HAVE AN OPEN MIND. " YOUR ALSO GONN'A HAVE SEVERAL OPENINGS IN YOUR BODY TOO! RIGHT MAY NOT MAKE MAKE MIGHT, BUT IT DANG SURE HELPS TO WIN THE FACE TO FACE ARGUEMENT!In a civil war, both sides have a closed mind. Those who get involved in other people's civil wars militarily are simply choosing sides, thus they have a closed mind too. SO IT'S BETTER TO SET ON THE FENCE AND GET A SORE CROTCH ANSD JUST ROOT FOR ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER? BET YOUR A BIG SPORTS FAN!

The only way to peace is by acting peacefully. The path is the destination.

What Bush has done is create a foreign menance, which is what every despot has done in history. I DISAGREE THAT BUSH DID ANYTHING BUT TAKE A BULLY OUT. EVER BEEN BULLIED STEVEC? IT AIN'T FUN AND IT SURE IS NICE WHEN SOMEBODY COMES ALONG AND WHIPS THE BULLY AND TEACHES YOU HOW TO WHIP HIM AND KEEP HIM WHIPPED. AND KEEPS THE BULLIES BUDDIES OFF FROM YOUR BACK. I THINK YOU NEED TO SPEND MORE TIME IN THE REAL WORLD.You try to make the people afraid, and then you claim to be the only person who can protect them.

For Hitler it was the international Jewish conspiracy.
For Mao, Stalin etc it was international imperialists.
For Nixon it was communists (the 50's and McCarthyism, etc.)

On Star Trek it was the Klingons, today in America it is "the terrorists."

It is always the same pattern: FEAR.

You cannot defeat fascism with fascism. You can only defeat fascism with courage and faith. I'LL DANG SURE ADMIT YOU GOT COURAGE WHEN YOU WALK UP TO A TERRORIST WITH A LOADED GUN OR A BOMB AND "LOVE " IT OUT OF HIM WITH YOUR OPEN MIND. PSST STEVEC, WHERE YOU GETTIN' THESE DRUGS MAN? EVIDENTLY THEY ARE REAL GOOD ONES!

Little trivial things? George W. Bush sent our troops off to an unnecessary war. In spite of advice of professional military, he sent them off undermanned, without their heavily armored vehicles and without body armor. A couple of thousand (and growing) are dead, thousands wounded and mained. They had them out escorting conveys in HumVs, for goodness sake! Now Bush's extended Federal Budget projects a cut in VA medical funding. You think these are trivial things, go stand in the corner.

you are like chicken little. of course things are bad over there....it is a war zone. and those people know only one thing. killing. they have been doing it for years, the Saddam took over and ran a country that makes the Nazis look like boy scouts. ROTLMAO! More people have died every day in Iraq since Bush invaded the country than when Saddam was in charge. That's a fact. It's a war zone only because George W. Bush chose to make it a war zone. Iraq was no threat to this country. In case you haven't noticed, there were no WMDs. If Bush had given the UN inspectors that were in the country a chance to do their work, we could have avoided this mess. But he told them to get out so he could topple Saddam. So what has he accomplised wit the fall of Saddam? Do we have more friends in the region? No. Do we have cheaper gas prices? No. Are we drowning in debt? Yes. Are our gas prices higher? Yes. Are the terrorists cowering before our might? No. All our enemies are learning from this as they sit and watch; Osama is probably laughing his behind off at the mess Bush has gotten us into in Iraq.

Hey I wouldn't worry to much about little dis and the trivial things she posts. You see disagreeable is the name and no matter what President Bush decideds dis will disagree. Dis has no intellectual honesty whatsoever, it is just go against whatever our President decides, much like the democrats in general.

Everyone knows that if we were not in Iraq today the libs would be screaming that we should be there and that President Bush is doing a terrible job.

They will whine and cry no matter what Bush decides, we have to just get used to it.

People like dis should be put away for treasonous talk.

 yikes...

Does the Sedition Act mean anything to anyone?
How about Joseph McCarthy?

The right to complain about the fools in our government is an inherent American right. And it's protected by the first ammendment.
Every war has had in dissenters. Dissention doesn't necessarily have anything to do with treason, it just means they don't agree.
And that is a basic American right, too.

We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. When the loyal opposition dies, I think the soul of America dies with it. Edward R Murrow 1908-1965
