Canada authorities have arrested suspects planning a terrorist attack on New York City today and we now are waiting for a Canadian press conference where the RCMP will release some details on the Coop mission with the US FBI to stop this attack.

Report: Canadian authorities thwart terror plot

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are expected to announce Monday afternoon that Canadian law enforcement officials have "thwarted a plot to carry out a major terrorist attack, arresting suspects in Ontario and Quebec,"

An official with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police tells CNN that the plot intended to target "transport links," but would not provide further details.

The CBC, which is a CNN affiliate, quoted "highly placed sources" as saying the suspects were under surveillance for more than a year.

Thank you Canada..

at least they are willing to watch the bad guys...

The plot was to be the blowing up a Via Train running between New York City and Toronto. They wanted to cause damage to both the US and Canada, but Canadian authorities caught on early on and with the help of all agencies and Private sector people that watched them and the arrests were made today.

A job well done.

A proud moment for all agencies involved. This should give us all hope. However, I have a bad feeling that our Canadian justice system could make a mockery of their combined efforts.Hopefully I am mistaken.

Tammy- I darn sure are not going to thank you-- as these multinational/multicountry folks like you that can't/won't/refuse to declare loyalty to any one country and while living in a foreign country promote hate and fear in the US is what makes much of US law enforcements work so much harder...
BUT
I darn sure will give the Canadian Law Enforcement a great big ATTA BOY... This does not surprise me as for all the years I was in law enforcement we had a great working arrangement with our Canadian counter parts... Which included monthly get togethers and info exchanges held on one side of the border or the other.....

you mean this plot they missed..

An Algerian man arrested in Canada last week was a central figure in a group of Algerian terrorists suspected of planning a bomb attack in the United States, federal prosecutors in Manhattan charged last night.

An indictment unsealed in Federal District Court in Manhattan linked the suspect, Mokhtar Haouari, to another Algerian accused of smuggling bomb parts into the United States near Seattle and to a Brooklyn man identified as an accomplice of the smuggler.

The bomb plot, the authorities have said, was interrupted by Mr. Ressam's arrest as he crossed the Canadian border near Seattle, trying to bring explosives and bomb components into the United States.

Mr. Haouari, 31, was arrested in Montreal on Jan. 10 by Canadian authorities, a law enforcement official said last night, but the arrest was not publicly announced.

Mr. Haouari was held in Montreal under a warrant seeking his extradition to the United States, where he will face charges in New York.

Investigators say Mr. Haouari is one of a handful of people they are most interested in as they try to untangle a plot whose tentacles have reached from Canada into New York, Boston, Vermont and Seattle

I guess another long overdue thank you is in order...

How did you find the time to meet with your Canadian counterparts on a monthly basis (something I seriously doubt happened) when you were constantly battling skinheads, Posse Come-to-get-us, and those other bad guys running around in Valley County?

What the hell could those Westboro kooks be protesting?

Someone should concoct a nice little package out of a pressure cooker for them!

Needs to be a Low or High Tech lynching of an uppity Black State Representative.

Quote:
State Rep. Joe Mitchell, D-Mobile, had an outlandish exchange via email with a Jefferson County man who asked him and other lawmakers not to pass any laws that would restrict gun ownership.

Eddie Maxwell sent a mass email to state legislators at 10:54 p.m. on Jan. 27, warning them that even attempting to introduce a gun control bill was, in his opinion, a violation of state law.

Mitchell responded from his public, ALHouse.gov email account at 11:59 p.m., telling Maxwell: "Your folk never used all this sheit (sic) to protect my folk from your slave-holding, murdering, adulterous, baby-raping, incestuous, snaggle-toothed, backward-a**ed, inbreed (sic), imported criminal-minded kin folk."

"That’s not the type of reply I expect to receive from a state legislator," Maxwell replied on Feb. 11. "I’m not a racist and I find your reply to be especially offensive considering the position you hold."

Here is a PM message I received from Mike and my answer.... I guess after all the libel and slander he put out against me- with his favorite word "LIAR"--- finding out I had called authorities attention to the postings on this site finally got to him....

But after thinking longer of it-- this PB site in no way represents the rural/rancher community I know or the rural America I want to be associated with- so instead of arguing with the racists, homophobes, and anarchists- I'll let them have their way with all hate, fear and the personal slander and libel they put out.... I have some new cattle ventures I'm moving into- and don't need to fight with losers and wannabes....

But it darn sure won't stop me from doing my duty as an American citizen and reporting those that want to promote hatred and anarchy.....

I have saved numerous posts by you untruthfully accusing me of being a member of the "KKK", an "anarchist", and/or "threatening" to the authorities, and other untruthful statements by you.

I have also forwarded these many saved screenshots to my attorney and he agrees, it is time this is stopped.

With this informal "Cease & Desist Warning", you are hereby warned that any further written derogatories on Ranchers.Net or other public forums, business or persona,l towards me constitute "Libel", which is a written and published form of Slander against my good name and character, and that a Defamation suit will be filed in the proper jurisdiction, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama immediately and without hesitation.

What you do with this is up to you. There will be no more warnings.

Mike

And how many hundreds do I have from you- accusing me of untruths- libels and slanders... Like my attorney said- there are two sides to the story........
And like my attorney said when old Tammy Faye wanted to threaten things cause her butt got puckered- it only takes a few minutes to subpoena all the last 5 years posts off the site....
And how do you slander an anonymous Mike- when you tell lies against me while posting and backslapping those posting my name and calling me a liar?... Sounds like I should be ringing up my attorney.......

GET OFF MY ASS THEN.... IF YOU STOP ALL POSTS MENTIONING ME- OR BACKSLAPPING THE YAPDOGS ATTACKING ME - I"LL SURELY DO THE SAME... ITS SOMETHING I WOULD DO FOR ANYBODY....BUT IT WILL NOT STOP WHAT I FEEL IS MY DUTY TO REPORT THREATS AGAINST OUR GOVERNMENT OR GOVERNMENT OFFICALS TO LAW ENFORCEMENT....

YOU YOURSELF MADE YOURSELF OUT TO BE WHAT THIS ENTIRE WEBSITE KNOWS YOU AS!

I guess if we want to play the sue game- everyone better hire an attorney!

If history has taught me anything I would have to say, If I tried to tell you something it wouldn't soak in. But here it goes anyway.

If you have a problem with the way Macon runs his website either take it up with him OR do like Oldtimer is doing hide behind the curtain of shame and lurk. I'm sure nobody cares one way or the other. Posting this same cut and paste post in every thread is a bit telling to your childish side.
