Plain & simple, the U.S. State Dept dropped the ball and have blood on their hands. Poor management before, during, and after the incident shows poor or no leadership from above.

Hope, but no change.

We........Told..........You...........So.................

(CNN) -- Three days after he was killed, CNN found a journal belonging to late U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens. The journal was found on the floor of the largely unsecured consulate compound where he was fatally wounded.

CNN notified Stevens' family about the journal within hours after it was discovered and at the family's request provided it to them via a third party.

The journal consists of just seven pages of handwriting in a hard-bound book.

A source familiar with Stevens' thinking told CNN earlier this week that, in the months leading up to his death, the late ambassador worried about what he called the security threats in Benghazi and a rise in Islamic extremism.

CNN Found Libyan Ambassador’s Journal and Used It as a Source, Prompting the State Department to Call Them ‘Disgusting’

During an interview with John McCain, Cooper said "a source familiar with Ambassador Stevens' thinking told us that in the months before his death he talked about being worried about the never-ending security threats that he was facing in Benghazi and specifically about the rise in Islamic extremism and growing al Qaeda presence." That source, apparently, was Stevens' journal, which CNN discovered amongst the rubble in the U.S. Consulate three days after the attack that killed Stevens.

"CNN did not initially report on the existence of a journal out of respect for the family, but we felt there were issues raised in the journal which required full reporting, which we did. We think the public had a right to know what CNN had learned from multiple sources about the fears and warnings of a terror threat before the Benghazi attack which are now raising questions about why the State Department didn't do more to protect Ambassador Stevens and other U.S. personnel. Perhaps the real question here is why is the State Department now attacking the messenger."

State department did not want the scene secured, that might make it traceable back to someone of the democratic persuasion and heaven knows that can't be allowed.

that "someone" was the guy they released from Gitmo, who they knew was one of the militia leaders, from when they worked with him overthrowing Gaddafi.

remember when some of us brought up the fact that obama was working with the Muslim brotherhood?

Reports indicate the Obama administration indirectly relied on the Muslim Brotherhood for security in Benghazi.

Intelligence communities are focused on the February 17 Brigade. This is a Libyan militia led by Fawzi Bukatef, who has known ties to both the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamist fighters. The February 17 Brigade "had been charged with local security to the consulate" in Benghazi.
