A Woman's Poem

He didn't like the casserole

And he didn't like my cake.

He said my biscuits were too hard...

Not like his mother used to make.

I didn't perk the coffee right

He didn't like the stew,

I didn't mend his socks

The way his mother used to do.

I pondered for an answer

I was looking for a clue.

Then I turned and smacked the **** out of him...

Like his mama used to do.

I heard this at a school reunion last month:
In the 1940's in southern South Dakota there were two families that lived as neighbors. One day Steve came over to vist and stay overnight with Wayne's family. That night Wayne said, " I think I am ging to say a cuss word." Steve said, "What are you going to say". Wayne says, " I think I will say damn, and will say it at breakfast in the morning."
Morning comes, Wayne's mother says to Wayne, "What do you want for breakfast?". Wayne says " I think I will have some of them damn Cherrios." His mother smacks him across the head, then says to Steve, "What do you want for breakfast?" Steve says " I will tell you one thing, I sure ain't going to have any of those damn Cherrios!"
