a young buckaroo----with a horse and a rope
not to many hours----but with alot of hope
a strong young man----no worries,no fear
out ride'n the pasture----found a calf with drooped ear
as he gathered his rope----and drawed a big loop
thought how simple it was----then the big waaaah hoop
now without a doubt----was a case of blue eye
one blew to the north----one blew towards the sky
the dally had been drawn----his horse tight and plumb
but caught in the tangled rope----was a tore up thumb
his gloves,he had left at home----he just realized
but there was no time----to argue or criticize
the comotion had calmed down----and seemed to have dimmed
the cowboy looked at his thumb----the darn thing was skinned
as they stared at each other----both were in fear
one was in shock----the other in tear
as he eased up his horse----and give the rope some slack
he let the calf loose----and headed back for the shack
with his thumb tore up----down to the bone
there's a lesson to be learned----don't leave yer gloves at home
now this story might be sad----but it's very true
about a tore up thumb----and a young buckaroo
