Im getting phone calls from reps of all the candadates. They want my support. You see as a party member I can vote.
Well I tell them that I dont know where there guy stands on any issues. So I start asking them about there position on different things and they cant answer my questions. So then I ask them to tell me what they do know about there candadate. They say they are not allowed to speak for the guy. So then I ask them to send me literature on there candadates [position. They change the subject and usually ask me again if they can count on my support!
I tell them that im not voteing for anybody unless I know what there plans are. Then they hang up!
Anyway probable now all the conservatives probable have me in there computers as somebody who didnt vote for them.
You know this is what happens when a party gets to big and has to much support. They all know whoever wins the leadership race will be the next AB premier. They know they dont have to make promisses or take positions. They can be lazy and unaccountable.

Theres a candidate coming to our town today and giving a talk. Should be interesting, because one of the OTHER candidates is a HOMETOWN boy. Unfortunatly I can't make it because I have an inservice with the health unit I work for.I really would like to hear ALL of them talk, for sure I'm getting my card,so I can vote in this one.

Just vote for the one with the big red nose and a slur in his/her speech. You know... like last time.
 HEY..after throwing money at homeless in a shelter, telling them to get jobs and getting caught doing it,he quit drinkin

Poor Ralph. I didn't realize he drank until I saw him sober.... what a depressing sober guy he is. Not much fun since he quit drinkin'
See, our premier had the good sense to drink while on holidays. 'Course, deciding to drive under the influence showed poor decision making skills... but hey, since when are politicians known for that??

Albertans kind of had a love-hate relationship with King Ralph...I for one am really going to miss him,he was Albertas strongest advocates,we can actually overlook his idioscrities. One of the candidates is a high school friend of mine...I'm just not really sure at all if I will back him or not,I know Greg WON'T. There really never will be another Ralf :!: :!:

Well so far old Ed whats his name says he is going to install photo rader all across the province.
I say to heck with that!
Then who is the other guy who wants to get rid of the RCMP and duplicate CPP? To me this is dumb because all thats going to do is force us all to pay into two government pension plans that dont really pay much in return.
Plus the RCMP is a darn good police force that is really popular. Why get rid of them. Whats this all going to cost? Dont forget that we had our own Alberta Provincial Police force 80 years ago and we replaced them with the RCMP because it was cheaper.
I can think of better things to spend the government surpluses on.
How about more Ralph bucks! So far I hear none of them talking about Ralph bucks. If they want my vote Ralph bucks would be a god thing for them to be talking about

Red Robin...Albertas having an election to name the next leader of the conservative party, anyway for Albertans to vote for the leader they have to be a card carrying member of the conservative party.A person pays a fee to become a member. The Hutterites rarely vote at all,and are a HUGE group in Alberta..sooo this candidate is very smart GIVING away memberships to the conservative party and kind of gaurenteeing a vote for this certain candidate. Clear as mud?? :)

  I reread what I wrote in the first post...I now get it..DUH,dumb blond and I'm not even blond

Roper, you have alot of political issuse you dont seem to like,so why not run for election yourself?.Rather then be part of the "whining know it all's",become part of the solution...You never seem to be happy with government,so why not do something about it?.I often wonder why those that have so many complaints about how things are run,do not roll up thier sleeves and get pro active...If you already have been a mayor or MLA,then good on you and I respect your complaints much more if so..

Alberta's just like a big REZ anyway-nobody payes sales tax and you've got a drunk for a chief lol. I almost got punched at the Bow Slope Auction Mart for that bit of wisdom. Maybe it was too close to the truth lol.

For more reasons than I probable have time to post on here this morning.
#1 I have been on my own since I was 15. I have no education<grade 9>. That pretty much kills any chance of me getting into politics.

#2 I dont want my name draged through the mud. I dont want my children seeing a bunch of negative mud slinging in the media about me.
Remember that thread on here called whos your favorite President? Thats pretty typical in todays politics. I dont think I trash anybody myself in that thread but I sure could have.I think you said your favorite PM was Macdonald or King? Doesnt matter because I could have trashed both of them if I wanted to the same as every other leader on that thread.

#3 I dont have the money to run. The only way I could hope to run is to whore myself off. Then if elected im just a puppet.
#4 Im to outspoken and honest. Haha I cant hold it in. I say what I think. I talk to much  This doesnt make somebody populair.
#5 I grew up around politicians. Its more corrupt than what most could imagine. Everything is crooked or thats the way it was in Nova Scotia. Doesnt matter which party. Some are worse than others but they are all crooked. Bunch of whore pigs lining up at the troth. Patronage, bribes<kickbacks> at every level. Really the whole thing was quite disgusting. If you knew them on a personal level you would soon find out that none of them really believe in anything or stand for anything.
Dont get me wrong im not saying everybody is like that. Preston Manning and Peter Laugheed in my oppinion where two politicians that I really had respect for. But neither one was electable outside of Alberta.
Look at Winston Churchill. And dont get me wrong im not comparing myself to Churchill or Manning or anybody else except if they trashed them look how easy it would be to trash me. Look at the lies that were told about Churchill! Look at how the history revisionest misleads the public who doesnt have a clue about the way things really were about Churchills military service as Lord of the Admirality :(
Look at Pearson. Pearson could never get elected in todays politics. Really its amazeing that he got elected years ago. Dont get me wrong I dont agree with Pearsons politics. However I will say one thing for the guy. He was an idealest. He tried to do what he believed was the right thing for Canada and the world. Look at how he was crucified. Can you imagine what they<media, CIA> would do to him and his family and associates in todays world? Politics is not about doing the right thing. Politics is about not caring about anything except yourself.

Why do people always find answers to not do something, rather than come up with the ways to do that something....

I never had a favorite leader, never answered the pole.....

You are very pro Albertian, and that is fine, just please stop trashin on every other province...As Stomppin Tom Conners sang,"If you don't like your country, then live someplace else"...

I want the rest of the country <BC included> to smarten up and not be so economicaly dead.
#1 This would stop them from moving to Alberta.
#2 Plus the rest of the country would not be sucking a billion dollars a month out of hands of Albertans in the form of the Federal Equalization Program.

BC economicaly dead? Up til now you were making perfect sense. I'm surrounded by Albertans everyday that come here to work. And Albertan companies.
And in BC's defence, we don't get a penny of your money. You will find that BC rates as a 'have' not a 'have not' within the Equalization Program.
BC rates as a have for the same reason as Alberta; oil and gas revenues. (albeit signifigantly less oil and gas revenues).

I dont believe you.
Everybody in Alberta knows better than that.
Actually the idea of Albertans flocking to BC is really funny.
Im afraid youre very misinformed. Besides the Telus merger which because of the unions you got the best of the deal but all in all youre losing you Corporate Status. I think your number two in Canada but your losing momentum. BTW Its not just Canadian companies from Vancouver and Toronto. Companies from all over the States are making Cow Town their home town.
BTW I have nothing against people from BC. Nonothing just kind of annoyed me. Look I just came home from Calgary today. The drive made me sick. Southern Alberta is looking like southern Ontario. The developement just blows me away. I hate it.
Its not that I dislike people from BC or the rest of the country. Its just that to many people are coming here and the whole province is turning into little acreages with friggen houses everywhere! Its ruining the province!
