ABC caught red-handed

On Sunday's edition of ABC's The Week, Martha Raddatz managed to conduct a six minute-long interview with Democratic Senator Bob Menendez without asking a single question about an FBI investigation into allegations that he slept with underage prostitutes while in the Dominican Republic.

Instead Raddatz lobbed softball questions at Menendez about Sec. Hillary Clinton's performance during the Benghazi hearings, immigration reform, Chuck Hagel, and the upcoming Senate race in New Jersey.

In response, I blasted ABC and Martha Raddatz with the following public statement:

If there were even a whisper that a Republican Senator had been sleeping with underage prostitutes, the very first question from Martha Raddatz would have been about those allegations.

When it surfaces that a Democrat may have done something tawdry, the liberal media suddenly lose their journalistic curiosity.

The allegations surfaced on Friday, and it was Raddatz's responsibility as a journalist to ask Menendez about them on the record.

The MRC isn't taking a position on the allegations one way or the other, but the question should have been asked.

Maybe practicing to be a 2016 debate moderator.

If Hillary runs in 2016 you can bet she will not be asked about her Benghazi hearing performance by anybody in the media including dear Martha

seems the other liberal propaganda channel is caught again

MSNBC is “reviewing” how that tape was edited to make Newtown residents look like “heckling gun nuts”

MSNBC is reviewing its portrayal of the testimony of Neil Heslin, the father of a Sandy Hook victim, at a legislative hearing in Hartford on Monday. The 33-second video clip in question… features a graphics box saying “Mocked and Loaded. Sandy Hook Victim’s Father Heckled by Gun Rights Advocates.”

“We’re reviewing the video in question,” says an MSNBC source.

Smart move, considering that Heslin wasn’t, in fact, heckled. Audience members merely answered a challenge that Heslin posed from the microphone.

National and international media are up in arms today over the story of Neil Heslin, father of slain Sandy Hook student Jesse Lewis, being heckled yesterday during a Connecticut legislative meeting. During his testimony, in which he called for stricter gun control measures, Heslin was reportedly interrupted by shouts from Second Amendment activists:

, Frum conceded that no heckling occurred at Monday’s gun control hearing in Connecticut:

n retrospect, I’ll concede this: the CTPost‘ s use of the word “heckling” was misjudged, and it was not the right word for me to have repeated.

He also acknowledged that MSNBC edited its video in a way that distorted what happened:

MSNBC is taking criticism after it was revealed that a video they aired today was deceptively edited to make it appear as if gun advocates had heckled the father of a Sandy Hook victim.

At 11:25 a.m. today, MSNBC reporter Jane C. Timm filed a story at MSNBC.com called "Emotional father of Sandy Hook victim heckled by gun nuts."

The report included video of Heslin speaking about his son, and a quick cut to someone saying something about the Second Amendment as Heslin looked towards the audience. A moderator asked for outbursts to stop.

The problem is, that wasn't what happened.

The Daily Caller posted a full video (included here) of the hearing, and the true context of the incident (at the 15 minute mark of the video) is shown. Heslin was not speaking of his son, but rather about the idea of passing restrictive gun laws. He then asks the panel moderating the discussion if they have a good reason why certain guns shouldn't be outlawed. He waits for a response, but no one speaks. He then asks the same question of the audience several times, insisting if anyone in the room has a reason, to speak up.

After several moments of silence, and more insistence from Heslin, several people do respond, mentioning the Second Amendment. As the video shows, the respondents did not mock or heckle, and responded as respectfully as possible given the emotional situation. The moderator then asks for the audience not to speak up, or the room will be cleared.

While other parents of victims attended the hearing, Heslin also faced “gun-worshiping fanatics in the audience,” as described by MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell,

had the father not asked the question several times. paused and then made a comment speaking for the entire audience.. no one would have spoken ..

the free press died some time ago.. leaving a bunch of stale propagandist to exploit the uninformed..
