Rather than require future presidents to prove they were born in the United States - why not just get rid of that stupid law and allow anyone who is a citizen to run for president. The logic of the law totally escapes me. If they wanted to be consistent than only those US citizens born in the US should vote. I was born in the US myself of Canadian parents and apparently I could easily acquire citizenship based on this fact and then run for president. Would I be a more acceptable candidate than someone who was born in Kenya but immigrated to Hawaii before I was a year oldand lived in the US all their lives? OMG!!

I wonder how many of the "birthers" can produce the same kind of evidence they are demanding in order to prove their own citizenship? Hypocrites.

No skin lost on my end.
Finally, in turbulent times, a proposition that everyone can agree on: the folks who think Barack Obama was really born in Kenya are crazy! Completely, shining, barking, howling, nutburger crazy. And what perfect timing! It's August, and a restless proletariat clamours for entertainment.

The people saying this are the same 35% mostly democrats that thought Bush, Cheny and the CIA actually carried out the "9-11" attacks...I beleive they were called the "Truthers".
This particular story is, in no small part, a project of a far-right news site called WorldNetDaily.com, which has been banging the drum on the birth-certificate story since the election campaign. Lately, the site – which keeps Chuck Norris as a columnist and is covered in ads for get-rich-quick schemes, miracle cures and nuclear-bomb survival kits – has been putting up highway billboards demanding Obama's birth certificate.
It's a website that's worth paying attention to, because it's got its fingers on the pulse of disaffected white Americans. The site, for example, was agitating about the Terri Schaivo assisted-suicide case for years before it hit the international news. It's like the canary in the crazy mine.

There are nuts on both sides...But WorldNetDaily and several of the other right wing blogs did the same... Just like Rush, Anne, the NRA, the ACLU-- they all live by fearmongering too- and know they can better profiteer off playing on weak minds, the reason they don't care if they put out false or unfounded items....

But to the 60-70% of sane mainstream people- this bunch looks truly nutso and dangerous--- and right now with this issue- and with the Republican Party calling these rightwing folks "their base"- it makes the Republican Party look like they should change their mascot from an elephant to the Canadian LOON....
