don this whole mess could be settled if Obama and the Dems weren't so arrogant and would open his files to the public. When do you see that happening. The more he resists the louder and stronger the voice of discontent will get. If he has nothing to hide then why isn't he?

Rather than require future presidents to prove they were born in the United States - why not just get rid of that stupid law and allow anyone who is a citizen to run for president. The logic of the law totally escapes me. If they wanted to be consistent than only those US citizens born in the US should vote. I was born in the US myself of Canadian parents and apparently I could easily acquire citizenship based on this fact and then run for president. Would I be a more acceptable candidate than someone who was born in Kenya but immigrated to Hawaii before I was a year oldand lived in the US all their lives? OMG!!

I wonder how many of the "birthers" can produce the same kind of evidence they are demanding in order to prove their own citizenship? Hypocrites.

tam as far as i know he is not required by law to put his birth certificate out in public. if anybody suspects he doesn't meet the requirements they should make their case by finding out where he was born and proving it.

well then prove it's fraudulent. all we've gotten so far is accusations. explain why no credible person has jumped on your bandwagon. you can bet many people have looked at the accusations and backed off saying, 'let's leave this one for the loons.'

Courts won't hear the cases, on procedural grounds.

How are they supposed to look at evidence. You've looked at the evidence, it's easy to recognize that somebody presented a fraudulent document.

State of Hawaii won't verify it's authenticity, just the opposite, stating that they never issued that document.

they don't care, that's the point.

the Rule of Law is dead.

Well, if that's what you believe, after looking at the pictures of the COLB that were presented, fine.

No skin lost on my end.

Good...I'm glad to see that you've quit worrying about it.

About sums it up is the correct title don:
Finally, in turbulent times, a proposition that everyone can agree on: the folks who think Barack Obama was really born in Kenya are crazy! Completely, shining, barking, howling, nutburger crazy. And what perfect timing! It's August, and a restless proletariat clamours for entertainment.

How about those that do not think he has proven his Constitutional Eligibility?

They "nuts" too, or maybe just "rightwing extremists"?

What a "Mob"

You better phone your local SEIU rep and get them quieted down, by the "Citizen Ethics and Rule of Law" Czar.

The people saying this are the same 35% mostly democrats that thought Bush, Cheny and the CIA actually carried out the "9-11" attacks...I beleive they were called the "Truthers".

There are nuts on both sides...But WorldNetDaily and several of the other right wing blogs did the same... Just like Rush, Anne, the NRA, the ACLU-- they all live by fearmongering too- and know they can better profiteer off playing on weak minds, the reason they don't care if they put out false or unfounded items....

This particular story is, in no small part, a project of a far-right news site called WorldNetDaily.com, which has been banging the drum on the birth-certificate story since the election campaign. Lately, the site – which keeps Chuck Norris as a columnist and is covered in ads for get-rich-quick schemes, miracle cures and nuclear-bomb survival kits – has been putting up highway billboards demanding Obama's birth certificate.

It's a website that's worth paying attention to, because it's got its fingers on the pulse of disaffected white Americans. The site, for example, was agitating about the Terri Schaivo assisted-suicide case for years before it hit the international news. It's like the canary in the crazy mine.

But to the 60-70% of sane mainstream people- this bunch looks truly nutso and dangerous--- and right now with this issue- and with the Republican Party calling these rightwing folks "their base"- it makes the Republican Party look like they should change their mascot from an elephant to the Canadian LOON....

So those Democrats that are "whacked" out "nuts", might also be persuaded that Obama should show his documents to prove his eligibility?

Great plan, why didn't anybody else think of that?

You'd probably only have to persuade a small %, not 35% for sure, to have a damaging affect on Obama for 2010 and 2012?

Good idea OT.

Yea Oldtimer just like the people that dare speak up about Obama's Health Care plans are nothing but an angry rightwing crazy mob. Face it anyone that dares to question the Dems agenda are tagged crazy, even though they are just concerned US CITIZENS. But as long as they don't agree with some Old Batwing Crazy Bush Hatemongering Fearmongering, Know it all Ex Sheriff from Valley County Montana they don't have a right to know THE TRUTH. right OLDTIMER

Don if Obama cared one damn bit about unifying the UNITED STATES he would show his records to anybody that wants to see them, just to clear any questions away. BUT no instead he is hiding his past from those that feel so strong about the issue that they are filing lawsuits which is resulting in a divided country. And people like you, Oldtimer , Reader and Alice to name a few are just making excuses to cover his arrogent ass. You know the old saying "United we Stand Divided we fall" Well I'm beginning to think that is exactly what the Dems and Obama are counting on. Dividing the country so they can shove crap down the throats of the citizens while they are distracted. If he really wants a UNITED country he needs to live up to his Campaign promise of TRANSPARENCY AND HONESTY.

Hey Oldtimer wasn't the "original birther" a DEMOCRAT. Yes I think he was but somehow this is a Republican issue in your hatemongering fearmongering mind isn't it. This is a CONCERNED CITIZEN issue Oldtimer I have never seen the Republican party supporting the Birth Certificate issue and unless you can provide an official press release from the RNC then you are just hatemongering AGAIN.

Nutso, dangerous or whatever you want to call us....Polls indicate that what you refer to as "mainstream people" are in agreement with us nutjobs.

When will barracko decide that he represents the people and listen to them instead of staying on his agenda come hell or high water (both appear to be right around the corner).

:agree:

Let's pretend he is not legally qualified...don't you think the guy would have made sure that all the bases were covered, the paper trail was destroyed and anyone that didn't cooperate disappeared as was so often the case with William Clinton?? I mean...he does things "Chicago Style". He's an idiot if he left one loose end anywhere.
