About that Christie fellow

I am not too thrilled with Chris, BUT

the guy can attract votes from everyone. If he was elected, congressional republicans would be able to control his agenda.

As it is now. they don't have anything to say about what goes on.

He has the best chance of beating whoever the democrats roll out.

I voted for McCain. That is the LAST time I will vote for any sorry ass RINO puke. And in my book, that is exactly what Christie is. IF he were to become the nominee (doubtful), I would have to write in Pat Paulson.

I hear you loomixguy, but----

Votes for Ross Perot cost Bush I reelection.

Votes for Ralph Nader cost Al Gore the presidency.

Votes for George Wallace cost them the presidency a while ago.

The only way the republicans can win is to vote republican and have a candidate somewhat acceptable to others.

The Democrat attack machine will have a hay day with Christie, and he's very unlikely to win favor with conservatives anyway.

Lincoln won the Election of 1860 with only 39% of the popular vote.

Breckinridge won 18%

Bell won 12%

Douglas won 30 %

Clearly, the other three parties could have united and won that election by a landslide.

Each of those latter 3 candidates pledged "No War" before the election.

so far that hasn't worked out...

McCain was moderate.. lost big time..

Romney was moderate.. Lost..

and both of them had HUGE liberal media support during the primaries only to be destroyed by the media in the general election..

Christie is getting that support from the media now... and will until he locks up the nomination.. then all the crap he pulled over the years will be the headlines..

like the human trafficker illegal immigrant he gave a sweat heart deal to gt her testimony

His version..
As U.S. Attorney, I took an unprecedented stand against child pornography and human trafficking--breaking up criminal rings around the world. These crimes are not only despicable, they erode the moral fiber of our society and cannot be tolerated. As Governor, my vested interest in protecting those that are unable to fight for themselves will continue with a forceful hand.

reality
In July 2005, federal officials found 30 young Hispanic woman – some as young as 14 – in conditions described as “trapped in a slavery ring, raped and forced to undergo abortions by their captors.”

U.S. Attorney Chris Christie loudly condemned the operators of this human trafficking ring. At a news conference, he told reporters: “There can be no greater disregard for life than the way these women were treated and what they were forced to do to their own bodies. In essence, these women were kept as slaves.” Christie said that “some of the women were raped by ring members” and later “forced to have abortions so they could keep working.”

Chris Christie, himself, identified the ring’s leader, telling reporters “These women were kept as slaves, forced to work in her establishments.” The “ring leader” owned the three bars and two apartment buildings at which the girls worked and were kept, “five or six to a room.” One of the trafficked women gave birth to a baby in one of those rooms. The media reported that “her newborn died hours later after her captors allegedly tried to stuff the baby down the toilet.”

The “ring leader” was charged by Christie’s office with 31-counts, including human trafficking and immigration charges. She faced up to 20 years in prison on one count alone and if convicted on all counts up to 250 years, according to newspaper reports. There was every indication that this woman was going to be put away for a long time. Five months after her arrest, Christie told reporters: “Human trafficking, to me, is one of the most horrible things that can happen, one of the most anti-American things that can happen.” Bravo!!!

So how did this story end?

Chris Christie was building a record of political convictions, and the “ring leader” had given cash gifts to a local mayor in return for having her paperwork expedited and other favorable treatment at town hall.

A plea deal was negotiated with Christie’s office. The “ring leader” testified against the mayor. Most of the charges against her were dropped and she received no jail time for her crimes. She was ordered to pay the more than $500,000 she owed in back taxes on profits from her operation.

The mayor, who had received a few thousand dollars in gifts, was sentenced to more than 4 years in prison.

as I said the guy is a scumbag liberal who only cares about himself... and his career.

another issue..
where Chris Christie stands on the abortion issue. He will have to wrestle with that in campaign mode. He was pro-choice throughout his career in elected office. Last December, he refused to tell journalists where he stood on the issue. Now, on TV, he has clearly stated that he is pro-life.

the liberals can't wait for you to nominate him so they can destroy him...

but remember this case before you toss your vote away..
at least read what scum he let go as a US attorney.
http://cmdmedia.wordpress.com/2009/05/14/sex-slave-case-returns-to-haunt-candidate/
A case last year involving a sex slave scandal with underage illegal immigrants has come back to tarnish the record of former U.S. Attorney Chris Christie, who is now a Republican gubernatorial candidate.

Christie, who has based his campaign in part on his success as a federal prosecutor, worked a plea bargain with the operator of a Honduran sex-slave ring that allowed her to avoid prison by paying over $500,000 in back taxes in exchange for testimony to convict the Democratic mayor of a small town of corruption charges.

The crux of the scandal is that Christie used his prosecutorial discretion to look the other way on a major illegal immigrant sex-slave operation. The testimony helped convict Mayor David Della Donna of Guttenberg, and his wife, who at most had accepted $40,000 in gifts from the brothel madam, Luisa Medrano.

Christie's Skeletons
Peter Hamby reviews Double Down: Game Change 2012 by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann and focuses on Mitt Romney's wariness of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie during the presidential campaign.

"Halperin and Heilemann make abundant use of a vice-presidential vetting file dropped into their hands by someone in Romney's orbit to illuminate secrets about the governor. Delivering the documents to the authors was a stunning breach of political decorum that can only be read as a giant middle finger at Christie and his aides."

"His 'disturbing' research file is littered with 'garish controversies,' the authors write: a Justice Department investigation into his free-spending ways as U.S. attorney, his habit of steering government contracts to friends and political allies, a defamation lawsuit that emerged during a 1994 run for local office, a politically problematic lobbying career that included work on behalf of a financial firm that employed Bernie Madoff.

And all that was on top of a litany of glaring matters that sparked concern on Myers’ team: Christie’s other lobbying clients, his investments overseas.

Months earlier, Christie had banned Romney from raising money in New Jersey until Christie had given the O.K. to do so—a move Romney found galling, like something out of The Sopranos. Are you kidding me, Mitt thought. He’s going to do that? There were plenty of New Jersey donors who’d given money to Mitt in 2008; now Christie was trying to impose a gag order on talking to them? “He sounds like the biggest asshole in the world,”

The list of questions Myers and her team had for Christie was extensive and troubling. More than once, Myers reported back that Trenton’s response was, in effect, Why do we need to give you that piece of information? Myers told her team, We have to assume if they’re not answering, it’s because the answer is bad.

Myers, had come into the vet liking Christie for his brashness and straight talk. Now, surveying the sum and substance of what the team was finding, Newton told his colleagues, If Christie had been in the nomination fight against us, we would have destroyed him—he wouldn’t be able to run for governor again. When you look below the surface, Newton said, it’s not pretty.

if Romney's team has a file that is disturbing,.. you can bet Hillery's is twice as thick as the governor's butt..
