OK Lady J,since everybody else is busy,I will attempt to tell you how ta make some tamater gravy.
Get you a few ripe tamaters and dice em up real good, put em in a big bowl and add a lil salt & pepper, next sift in a lil flour, now mix it up real good, now get a big skillet with some bacon grease, put it on the fire till it gets good and hot,add your tamaters four salt & pepper stir this as you add milk, bring em to a boil for a few minutes and you have some of the best tamater gravy you ever ate.................good luck

Or...this is how I do it,

After frying your meat, whatever kind that might be....round steak usually when I make it,after draining most of the grease off, I sprinkle the flour (usually about 1/4 cup if ya was to measure it) in the pan and let it brown for a few minutes.....
Then take home canned maters n dump em in.Let it cook stirrin the whole time till it gets thick then Salt n pepper to taste.

all we've got so far is 1/2 inch yesterday mornin.....Houstons hoggin it all up, and that asphalt aint gonna grow none at all. From radar on the Weather channel it looks to be movin in from the gulf, and then headin east.
Growin up, I almost can't remember us havin a meal that didnt include some kinda gravy. Milk gravy (cream gravy as some call it) Redeye gravy, water gravy (brown gravy) and mater gravy. Grew up thinkin ya hadda have somethin to sop yer biscuit or bread in. And I still cook like that, but not ever meal like mama did. I'm fixin to get in the kitchen now and cook up a batch of Hot sauce (picante) from the tomatoes that are gettin almost too ripe. They growin faster than we can eat em.
