Administration Will Cut Border Patrol Deployed on U.S-Mexico Border

By Terence P. Jeffrey, Editor-in-Chief

(CNSNews.com) - Even though the Border Patrol now reports that almost 1,300 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border is not under effective control, and the Department of Justice says that vast stretches of the border are “easily breached,” and the Government Accountability Office has revealed that three persons “linked to terrorism” and 530 aliens from “special interest countries” were intercepted at Border Patrol checkpoints last year, the administration is nonetheless now planning to decrease the number of Border Patrol agents deployed on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Border Patrol Director of Media Relations Lloyd Easterling confirmed this week--as I first reported in my column yesterday--that his agency is planning for a net decrease of 384 agents on the U.S.-Mexico border in fiscal 2010, which begins on October 1.

It's a lot more important to catch these Canadian terrorists sneaking through the snow banks.

By the looks of the new border patrol buildings I have seen they must have three men per mile along the Canada/US border.

Sounds like a McMurtry airport type of deal, to me.

DALLAS — Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Thursday that politics did not influence the decision to spend millions of dollars in stimulus money on little-used border checkpoints while passing over higher-priority projects.

Members of Congress have asked for answers after The Associated Press showed that the Obama administration did not follow its internal priority list when handing out money to repair border stations nationwide.

Two Montana senators have taken credit for securing money for projects in their state, including $15 million for a border crossing that sees about three travelers a day. Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., said he and colleague Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., personally appealed to Napolitano to make that and other Montana projects happen

I crossed at that port last week. It is handy to have but $15 million come on. They could put a couple of good houses and a nice tight and warm office building in there for $500,000 MAX. It's only 2 people need at on time and most don't like to live at the port anyway.
