Good visit. We will have to take a run up to your country. You're even welcome back in the summer when we can show you some country.
For the readers... NR is one tough son of a gun. Showed up with a straw hat, in Northern Alberta, in January, with windchill....
I spent the first three minutes in terror for my life and the next three in admiration.

I'd have showed up in a wool hat and a wool jacket. I wish I had all of NR's gas money from a year I bet it's enough to run my whole operation.

Money spent looking at cattle is never wasted. I was just thinking last night now lucky you are to be able to go gather cattle on horseback with your Dad_I never got to do that. I really like listening to those oldtimers they have a lot to teach us.

Trees get shorter the farther north you go. :) Interestingly ungulates get larger. Hardly could call it a forest but woody for sure.

I was wearing my straw the other day and someone called me tough. I said "No, I'm just too broke to buy a felt."

Nice pics Sean, thanks for taking us along.

I'm kind of like Per, never been to proud to wear a toque if that's what it took to keep my ears warm.

I was going to a bull sale and for a joke i put my orange toque over top of my cowboy hat-except I forgot to take it off inside-I got some funny looks. Of course my buddies told me about it after the sale. I think chemo raised my bod temp about ten degrees so I don't get cold too easy.

What's a toque ?

I may have spelled it wrong eh? It is a knitted hat that you pull on your head, no visor. after being worn for a time they stretch and keep falling over your eyes. they are a cheap way to keep kids ears from falling off in the winter.
I know Per has a picture of either he or his Dad wearing one.

They are a Canadian thing eh? :D
