With sunset getting later and later I almost don't know what to do with all the extra daylight here these days. Sunset must be at least 5 mins later than it was 7 or 8 days ago!

Yes, the 21st is the shortest day. However, the afternoons (sunsets) have been creeping later for a while now.

Lilly you would be on Standard time now. In the spring you move to daylight savings time.

Here in Sask. we never change time and i like that. The time zone split our province so they put the whole thing on one time. i guess since I live half way across the province it works pretty good.

Denny :p you are correct.....but we's talkin "daylight"......

don't matter what it's called, Standard, Daylight savin's time...whatever. I still like it better the way it is in the summer, when it stays lighter later in the evenin. Sure does give you an opportunity to get more stuff done without havin to use the headlights, a spot light, flashlight, or just managin in the dark.

Y'know Silver, I didn't know what you are talking about until an older uncle of mine pointed it out to me a few years ago. But as the days get shorter up until the 21st, the hours of daylight shift back later in the day, with less morning hours of sunlight and slightly longer afternoons.

My dad had a saying that sure is true in this part of the world: "As the days get longer, the cold gets stronger." Seems to be the case up until the end of February or thereabouts.

It seems easier to take as long as we get a bit of sunshine.

I know I was just being a smart alec.I know all about feeding with the headlights on.I am thinking of putting lights in my pens at home would come in handy.

Nothin worse than feedin in the dark....mindin yer own business, and gettin one of them Black mama's right behind you breathin on yer Wrangler pockets.......

Well I said nothin worse, but there is.....Mr Lilly had the bright idea to work cows at night one time...using big arena lights...only we had just two. That don't work worth a flip, cuz either way you look your blinded by this big bright light...and anywhere else you look it's pitch black.....to match those black cows.....LOL when you got one of their calves on the end of a rope, gonna tag, cut, vaccinate, whatever....Them mama's will be right there in your pocket before you know it. After that one time, I said NEVER AGAIN, I don't care how hot it is durin the day time...Nightwork is best left for things other than cow workin.
