Ag in the classroom is a program offered by Farm Bureau. The progarm was designed mainly for elementary students but looks like it has expanded to larger age groups.
One needs to beware of any material taught to Ag interested students these days. Some of the material is being presented as a twist for pro PETA, tree huggers etc.
In Missouri if a high school student wants to take Ag or FFA they have to develop a plan in the 8th grade to take natural resources and conservation. Missouri Department of Conservation is the Missouri FFA largest supporter not only through FFA but through the Department of Education. Some say this state is considered a green wave state as the department of conservation has bought laregst tracks of land throught the state.
I think Ag in the classroom has great future in education. Teachers that are not from Ag backgounds can gain necessary lesson plans that teach ag lessons that they can pick and choose from.. Great Idea.

Here all the Ag groups in the state help along with some of the gas and oil companies.(some envioremental law suites the oil companies have footed most the bill to have the livestock industry lead the case. IE sage grouse)
