Agman:
Econ: My comments do not suggest that at all. They actually say that Tyson has used its earnings in other sectors to buy heavy market positions in other sectors. How can you construe what I wrote to even remotely get what you just posted?
Agman: Second, Tyson is not the biggest pork producer as you also suggest in your comment.
Econ: No, they are not. When hogs hit 5 cents a lb they got out of that market in a big way and left a lot of farmers around Arkansas holding the bag. The farmers had to sue Tyson, win, and collect and then didn't even get compensated for Tyson's rotten dealing.
Agman: They are the largest chicken producer but unlike how you would run a business, if you could ever own one, each entity is a separate profit center and stands on its own.
Econ: So when their poultry loses money, do they go bankrupt or get the money to stay afloat from their "different operations"? This whole different segment each a separate profit center and stands on its own is a bunch of BS. Tyson reports all 3 segments (and others) in one prospectus. They don't "stand on their own" any more than the money in your left pocket is owned by a different individual than the money in your right pocket. You really do come up with stupid arguments sometimes, Agman.
Agman: Does diversification help? Certainly it does but that is good business not manipulation as you always conclude about every circumstance.
Econ: When this was happening during the turn of the last century, the many companies that Rockefeller claimed were "seperate entities" were held by the same holding company. It didn't fool the people back then, why do you think it would fool them now? Politicians are getting the bad poll numbers right now because we are all tired of hearing the same old same old excuses. You should get a clue also.
Agman: Why are you not for the truth rather than your stream of outright lies that you initiate and perpetuate? What about laws regarding that type of abuse? Just to remind readers of your lies are your comment from above which are incorrect and your recent claim that Wal-Mart sells select product as Choice.
Econ: Do you think if you say it enough it will come true? I challenge each and every person who doesn't believe me on the Walmart deal to try acting like an unwitting shopper themselves and do what I did. Let them come to their own conclusions. Maybe the meat department is more honest in their own home town walmart. I hope it is. This little propaganda machine is just a little too much sometimes.
The current bought off politicians have made the deal with corporations that they take the money, sell out the constituents, and let the propaganda people like you and SH spew out your garbage to try to alter the perception of reality. Now we have federal judges participating!!! Enough is enough!
The Italian eonomist Vilfred Pareto happened to see this pattern and called the government participants the foxes and the lions. The "foxes" rule the roost (little pun here) until they make such a mess of things that the government turns back over to the "lions". Recent poll numbers might indicate this time has come.
Agman, you are beginning to sound a little too much like your pal SH.
That is not a compliment.
Tyson can use the money from its other ventures for expansion to cover all the meat categories and has been for years. They have the biggest positions in pork, poultry and beef because of it. They want to corral the whole meats industry and are well on their way. It is funny how you like to cheer them on.
Why are you so against the laws of the land and for the economic abuses to producers by packers?
Agman:
Econ, you are wrong as usual. For starters, Tyson has not always been in the beef business as your comment suggests. Second, Tyson is not the biggest pork producer as you also suggest in your comment.
