Went out today to get our bulls in from the summer pasture.
Got out to the stock tank and I could see something laying out on the flats, so I headed down there and found one of our cows dead. From the looks of it she got hit by lighting from the last storm that rolled through awhile back.
Something really weird about that 10 acre area. It is just in that one area that we have lost the most cows from lighting. :???:
Now I have to go through the tags on the cows and find out which one it is we lost. Knowing our luck it will be a nice heifer with alot of promise.

On the good side I got the bulls in the corral for the year.

Sorry to hear about losing your cow!~ We have a mountain range north of us about 15 miles. It's called Faust and when electric storms roll through it always gets pounded. My theory is high iron deposits drawing the lightning but who knows? Hope your cow was an ol sister fixing to get culled this fall. :?

leanin' H we are NEVER that lucky. It had to be a really nice 3 year old.
Just not lucky enough to have the 3 nasty cows killed by lighting or even a poor doer.
Just 2 months shy of weaning a nice steer calf off of her. He's eating grass pretty good though.

A friend told me tonight to plant a tree out there. :)
