Nothing wrong with Oak Hollow here. I needed to downsize and his heifers are certainly smaller. Nice udder structure, easy keepers, fertile (almost all bred AI) Every one calved on their own and went to their motherly duties.

Katrina, could you define "butt ugly" please!

:D :D :D use your imagination frank... :D :D :D

I'll get a picture of my Oak Hollow heifers with calves at side.
You do the same, than we can constructively criticize or praise each others "work"! Deal or No Deal? :P

How do you like the Final Answer calves I am thinking about using him this year on some replacements this year?

The first 20 calves mostly 70-75 lb, an occasional 80,very good vigor. Pulled a dead one and another one in which the heifer wasn't dialated well. #21 was a different story... I just came in the house from pulling him, a 90 lb monster. Genetics come from both sides I guess. This is my first AI calf crop, so I don't have any experience on how FA's calves will perform in my herd. He's been around a while, must be doing something right.

I have probably used more FA than anyone. We breed 3-400 yearlings heifers every year for sale as bred heifers. I have never had a problem with any being too big at birth. You rarely even see one born, they are just standing there getting their first meal. Mostly around that 75-80 pounds and they do make terrific cows. Not great big cows but the moderate framed, easy doing kind that make you money. Have never had a complaint. We purchased a son of FA from Chad Ellingson in his 09 sale to replace FA and are calving all our heifers to him this year. He is doing great, haven't touched a heifer and the calves look awesome. He is a tad bigger than FA but with a lot better carcass. He is LT Final Answer 8803 of EA and reg. # is 16211820. We have semen available if anyone is interested.
