The only funds Palin will reject, Leighow said, will be nearly $29 million for a State Energy Program she says are tied to adopting a statewide energy code.

Smart business move. If Federal taxes are increased due to the Stimulus funds, they will retain the opportunity to make up the difference in Royalty rebates to the Alaskan citizens.

And they had the debate, the citizens decided!

State Will Keep Pressing for Fair Tariffs
Federal Ruling Boosts Receipts by $440 million

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE No. 09-99

State Will Keep Pressing for Fair TAPS Tariff Rates
Federal ruling increases oil tax and royalty receipts by $440 million

April 28, 2009, Juneau, Alaska – Governor Sarah Palin and Acting Attorney General Rick Svobodny applauded a ruling by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) on protests by the state and Anadarko of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) interstate rates for 2007 and 2008.

The FERC ruling will result in additional production tax and royalty payments to the state of an estimated $440 million later this year. This is in addition to the approximately $200 million in refunds awarded the state under a previous FERC ruling on protests of TAPS tariffs for 2005 and 2006. Future TAPS rates will have to comply with FERC precedent.

Because r2 only has an infatuation with Sarah.

Because people made a big deal a month ago about how she was going to refuse to take a lot of the Stimulus money, right here on PB.

not really, OT made a big deal out of it, everyone else said she should take it if that what the people of Alaska wanted her too, (which they did) but those are just minor details to some

I believe you. I remembered a discussion about how she was going to reject some of the money.

So I thought the process and result was worth noting.

Did I say anything of a judgmental nature one way or another?

Looks like she followed her word.
