"We have been one of the main beneficiaries of the revolutions in the Arab world," Mokhtar Belmokhtar, a leader of the north Africa-based al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb [AQIM], told the Mauritanian news agency ANI Wednesday. "As for our benefiting from the [Libyan] weapons, this is a natural thing in these kinds of circumstances."

At least this didn't result from Obama invading a sovereign nation. :???: :???: :???:

And if he had, as a firm believer in the US Constitution, we can rest assured that he'd have gone to the Congress for approval before doing so. :???: :???: :???:

well at least there were no troops on the ground, as Biden stated: "that's how you fight a war"

I guess the securing of the weapons was an afterthought. The next Republican President will probably have to lie about WMD and go in and secure them

maybe some one should ask Biden if we are sending in shoeless teams to secure them..

Assistant Secretary of State Andrew Shapiro told ABC News last month there was "obviously" a race on to secure the weapons before terrorists get their hands on them and that the U.S. planned to have 50 teams of weapons specialists on the ground in Libya to do just that. That deployment is ongoing, a State Department official said today.

U.S. Boots on the Ground in Libya, Pentagon Confirms

Despite repeated assurances from President Obama and military leaders that the U.S. would not send uniformed military personnel into Libya, four U.S. service members arrived on the ground in Tripoli over the weekend.

State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland assured reporters Monday that the four individuals are not in Libya to fight.

The troops are only expected to be there for a short while. After the assessment of the embassy is complete, they are expected to leave.

Obama assured Americans in March when the bombing campaign over Libya began that there would be no boots on the ground. From the East Room of the White House on March 18, he said: "The United States is not going to deploy ground troops into Libya."

they were in weapons depots.. legitimate targets by anyone's definition.. why didn't we just blow them up when we had the chance?
