It is BEAUTIFUL country and we thoroughly enjoyed the trip. I took a ton of pictures and videos, now putting together a DVD for my dad and reliving the excitement of seeing the animals.( Your "protectors" had their pix taken at the Old Fort in Calgary ) where we had dinner with a roving barbershop quartet. I had an interesting talk with a retired mountie who did forensic work most of his career- sort of a CSI-like mountie. He said the mountie ALways gets his man. And always the woman.

Great Pics NR. Looks like a cool trip.

My favorite is the moose pic. He really must be one of God's creatures....looks like he's walking on water! Thanks!

:) I'm happy you enjoyed the trip, hopefully next time you make it to Calgary we won't be so busy. You need to see DJL's home area, probaly mine and gregs fav spot in Alta. Our area around the Battle River is unique, with the badlands.Theres so many areas in Alta that are overlooked because of the Banff-Jasper tourist areas.I'm assuming you took the Columbia Icefield road since you went from Calgary to Jasper,Rocky Mountain House has a really neat museum that I had thought the RCMP pics were maybe taken from.....oh about them getting thier women, nothin purdyer then a guy in one of then uniforms   Canadas awefully proud of that special forces.

If we were to do it again we'd skip Banff- too congested. Especially with the main street torn up. And not much for wild animals compared to Jasper.
I'm sure we missed way too many interesting and beautiful spots. Yes, we drove up the Icefield Highway but were warned not to do it at night so we did it in the day with snow coming back- very pretty. And yes, I thought Mr.nr looked really handsome as a mountie in that snazzy coat.

Glad you enjoyed your trip. We might have been out there about the same time. Visited our kids near Red Deer. We took a drive up the forestry trunk road from south of Rocky Mountain House up through the mountains on gravel in the rain and snow and back down through Nordegg to Rocky then home to Sylvan Lake. Nice trip but lots of cloud so hard to se the mountain tops at times.

We had a discussion about Red Deer that went something like, "Wasn't one of the ranchers from Red Deer?" "No, that was Red Owl."
Made me think about JB- really miss his postings.
Sorry we missed seeing you and Mrs. Greg.
