I was, BMR. And by "our," I meant mine. We have districts here, BMR...and we vote for Representatives from our districts. I can write a representative out of my district all day long, and when I hit send if my address doesn't match up with his constituents district, I can't send it...it won't send. I can knock on the door of a representative that does not cover my district all day long...it will not be opened...I will not be heard.

I would like to have Representative Jack Carter to hold a town hall meeting for his district...which includes the county that I live in. I would also like for the Senators, Kay Bailey Hutchinson, and John Cornyn, to do the same because they represent all of Texas, or are supposed to, anyway.

BMR, I'd like to think you are just being obtuse...but I have an idea there is an ulterior motive...

When I cast my votes it is for 2 Senators and 1 Representative.

So how many senatorS and reprsentativeS can you vote for?
You can vote for two senators and one representive. The representives are allocated a district according to the population. When a new census is done some state may lose representives and another state gains. What ever party is in power will try to gerrymander the district so they will have a majorty of thier party voters and a miniorty of the other parties voters. Here in Texas the Republicans try to make sure that there are not enough blacks or mexicans to overwhelm their candidate in as many districts as possible. It has got to the point that we have enough mexicans that it is getting harder for them to do.

I dont know about yalls districts but up here its a never ending battle trying to keep illegals from voting ..they use a bought ss card and register. The whole town KNOWS who is using bought cards but with the lack of workers willing or able to do the back breaking work its allowed.
The system is broke and needs fixing but with all problems untill we find common ground and work to a goal nothing will be done.

Here in Texas Illeagal immigration is the whipping boy for all concerned and is the problem from healthcare cost, to education to hear elected officials talk. Nearly everone in Texas has benefited from the illeagals work. Most of the ones bitching would have to do thier own lawn mowing and gardening and the wife would have to hire merry maids. I have never seen any one that really needs some hard manual work done bitch about them. White boys cannot jump and they will not work if it does not have a steering wheel on it. When they do they want to tell you how to do it instead of doing it they way you ask them to do.

No ulterior motive . You just said about NO republicans in Texas were holding town hall meetings and obviously there is. Nothing to be obtuse about.

If I said that, and I'm not admitting to it that I did because I'm not going thru this antiquated search that Rancher's provides, then I misspoke.

Did I say wet backs I thought I said Mexicans. Two of them graduated from the school here. The third one was their father. They own 7 acres and have a house on it just outside of town here. They truck farm and sell in the local market. They train horses. But they said the horse training was slow. I think they are Mexican-Americans to be correct. I did not ask for papers. They drive and install fences for 50 cents a foot. Is that high or not.

Well I apologise I made a poor assumption. I don't know any mexican Americans I do know people of mexican decent who are Americans.

He was talking "Illegals" in one breath and that nearly everyone in Texas benefited from the illegals work.
I think you assume correctly. Guess you need to be a mind reader. :D
