Sue said she ran out of hot water this morning, then a few minutes later no water. No water at my mom’s house either we both are on the same line from a spring box up the draw above my house. Went and rented a trash pump, the spring box is a concrete septic tank. I put the suction hose down in one end and was pumping mud. Looked in and I bet better then a 1/3 of the tank was full of silt and mud. Every time there was an earthquake this last year our water was muddy. Well we dug out the man hole at the other end of the tank Tenny crawled down inside had handed buckets of mud up to my brother and me, After awhile she moved to the front saw the waterline towards the bottom with a muskrat sticking out, We checked the over flow and the screen was gone. Tenny pulled its tail off then she wrapped some twine around what was sticking out she was pulling I had my head down in the tank and heart a pop sucking sound. The string was empty. Well we kept the pump running and I got down in there ad filled and handed up buckets of mud. Had a heck of a time getting out after the cold water and working bent over. And we got the tank really clean. Tenny got back in and we gave her the discharge hose and she sprayed and liquefied the mud that was left. Filled it up but still no water, Going to put some air in the line at mom’s house tomorrow and pump the tank down to the outlet…. And cover the end of the overflow pipe with a drilled out cap….
