All these memorials.

All these memorials that are being built in honor of the dead of 9-11coud be put to better use.

For example the Pentagon memorial, the law suits about the farmers land where the jet went down in PA and the planned memorial there, etc.

Why not take those millions & millions being spent on granite and water and build a school, a hospital, a re-hab center for vets, etc. Anything other than a place for a pigeon to roost. Make a memorial part of the greater project but put that money and time spent to an actual physical use.

That's just my take on the situation.

I was just thinking out loud about it was all.

But most of these memorials are state/local responsibilities upon completion...and 90% of those don't charge admission....so that means more tax $$$$ must got for their upkeep in the long run.

It just seems that the $$$$ could be spent in a much more efficient way.

The government has always been "efficient" spending money...

just not very effective nor thrifty...

overall most of theses memorials meanings will be "forgotten" long before the funding runs out..or the granite crumbles..

The Arizona memorial in Hawaii is a well placed, moving tribute...BUT...at a certain point it becomes a "Tourism" destination.
