Went out this afternoon drivin the pastures (me n Mr Lilly) after the rain had let up a lil bit. Was perdy much uneventful till I got ready to cross the creek. We have 2 crossins that we use regular, one on each end of the pasture cut down the middle by the creek. I crossed one, it was dry goin in, comin out I went to the other one, and low n behold it was ragin river  I couldnt cross. So I turn around and race to the other crossin that I'd used before......wheww...it was still dry. Got on the other side, and drove down the creek to see where the wall of water was at.
It was comin!! LOL

Lilly...

Thanks for sharing pics of your country. I'm glad you got rain. We got a little too last night, between .15 and .20 of an inch.

On the gray heifer...I like her-if you breed her black, will she throw black?

Cheers to your rain!!!

TTB

Who knows what she'll throw, she's out of a Yella cow and a black brangus bull. We've had grays in the past and bred them to black brangus and they seem to throw the grays more than any other color. Strange huh?

but she was born May 9 2006, so if she is bred at 15 mo old, (this was pointed out to me by someone else) she's gonna have a calf in May as well, Not really what we want timing wise. But one good thing about em is, they don't dock em at the sale barn that we can tell.

We were awful glad to see the rain too. 2 1/4 inches sure did help things out a bunch. Glad to hear ya'll got some too. Now we'll be lookin for more hay to bale in a few weeks LOL

woo just checked the weather, 74% humidity

Isn't it wonderful to get rain after a long dry spell?

We used to chase down the floods in the creek when I was a kid, get in front and watch the headwaters go by, then race on ahead again.......we'd do that all the way to the highway, which was almost 5 miles from the casa.......

Thanks for bringing back some good memories, Lilly! :D
