Did anybody else get woke up around midnight onto 4 am?

Guess I'm a little groggy right now. Midnight thunder storm was #1 to go through. Then got woke up again at 2 am from #2 coming through. With the fields dry I stayed up until it passed, went back to bed and was just drifting off when my pager went off for a fire in a different district. Thankfully they didn't call us out.
Only burned 5 acres and luckily there was rain there.

I sure hate those early morning type wake up's.

Well I was up most the night- but not for that reason...Saturday I babysat 2 sick yearling granddaughters so their parents could go to a wedding....Last night I caught the bug they had- and was up most the night wearing a trail to the pot- with one end or the other stuck in it
Feeling better this afternoon- and finally got some food to stay in me for an hour now...

But we did get a rain shower that moved in about 5AM and picked up another .1 ... Looks like the heavier stuff went south of us...Some more rain showers moved thru the north place about noon... Temp is only in the 60's...

Weather boys say the whole week could be wet- with some good chances of measurable precipitation about Friday...

The long range is saying that after this week- we should go back to more normal dry and hot August weather....

I woke up sometime after 5 when I heard a rumble of thunder. I knew the humidity was pretty high and it started to sprinkle soon after, with .25 in the guage. Getting woke up by a pager is not a very pleasant way to start the day. I get paged off a different repeater than the rest of the county fire department, but I have dispatch page me anytime the department runs out of town so I know who's out in case of multiple fire starts. That way I know if I have to respond to something further away or be on standby if needed. I usually respond to anything in the north half of the county plus run mutual aid in 4 of the adjoining counties if needed. So far only 1 fire in this part of the county, 2.4 acres started by a pickup.

Yesterday was real hazy, there was a fire someplace but could never
figure out where. We had to run to Miles City yesterday evening and
as we came close to the Powder River, there was a lot more haze.

Anyone know where the fire was?

We were really bad here Sunday afternoon...I was told it was coming in with the jet stream from some bad fires going in Alberta....

Only fire I have been on this year was 5 acres. Some moron shot out the lighting protector on a power pole and started a pasture on fire.
Rather funny, the cows were just standing there watching us.

I feel bad for a fire company west of me. They got paged out 3 times for control burns, talk about mad guys.

We didn't get any moisture out of these storms. Heard we are suppose to get some moisture starting Thursday.

Son just reported a lot of combine lights are out there right now. I hate combine fires, but I hate fighting fires with lighting striking near me even more.
