America remembers

On virtually all the internet news outlets I see images of memorials, families holding pictures , etc. Those are valid thoughts I guess on 9/11 but I wonder if they are intentionally leaving out the part I remember. Planes slamming into the towers, people running screaming up the street, folks jumping to their death. The panic in peoples voice and eyes as they wondered where the next attack would be , and when the next attack would be. What say y'all? Are they leaving out the inflammatory aspects of the 9/11 attacks because that brings up the fact that we haven't had another attack? Is it because that Bushes approval rating was 90% after the attacks and there is some "good will" attached to the way he went after the terrorists when it's brought to mind. Are the news networks working for the '08 election?

No, I don't think so.

I just think people want to remember their people and their ' good' aspects not the horrible ' way' they died.

Everyone knows that, the who's and why's and the how come's and maybe we are tired of looking at that ' car wreck'.

People shouldn't be thinking about GW in ANY aspect today.

I'm not trying to get them to look at President Bush. I just remember as a kid when Dec. 7 came around or when we studied it in school, the violent act of sinking Pearl Harbor was what was taught and remembered. The Kamikazes, torpedoes, burial at sea, etc. I wonder if they try to over look the actual events of the day. I don't know why. Maybe it's that they don't want to expose the muslim extremist aspect again.

Maybe they don't want the public to realize that most of the 9-11 highjackers came from Saudi Arabia and none from Iraq. If the public then connected the dots, they might actually wonder why we're fighting in Iraq instead of Saudi Arabia.

FF is 110%right.

The Bush Marketing Machine has performed wonderfully. They've taken the whole country's 'eye' off the correct mark...Afghanistan to begin with and that the hijackers were all Saudi.

If I had a product to sell....I'd sure want them to do the marketing cause they are good!!!

So ff, if we pull out of Iraq and the terrorists follow us home, which you can be sure will happen, will that also be Bush's fault? And should we then attack Saudi Arabia? Or should we do what you folks do best - turn the other cheek while the radical Islamists slaughter innocent Americans like they have done so many times in the past? The terrorists are taught from childhood to hate Americans and their religion demands that they kill all infidels, especially Americans and Jews. Is that really what you want?

Come on Kola. You don't believe the reason the networks don't show scenes from the actual day of 9/11 is that Americans will discover that the hijackers were Saudi...

Of course that's what she wants. The world is over crowded anyway and who better to die than those evil, profit making, stupid Americans.

Don't matter if we pull out of Iraq or not-as mentioned in the thread terrorists are being paid and trained by our so called "ally" countries- and the terrorists are going to be here since GW seems to forget its his sworn duty to secure our borders from foreign invaders and put any restrictions on who/what comes and goes essentially unmonitored....Putting the pocket book stuffing and creation of a new slave class interests of his neocon Corporate buddies ahead of the safety of the US public.... :(

First off the terrorists won't plunge into the sea like lemmings and yes it's GW's fault as he attacked the WRONG country and made a happy place for any & all terrorists to evolve.

And should we then attack Saudi Arabia? Prob should have but it's too late now

Or should we do what you folks do best - turn the other cheek while the radical Islamists slaughter innocent Americans like they have done so many times in the past? I don't say turn the other cheek...I say if you've got to attack....attack the RIGHT country!!!

The terrorists are taught from childhood to hate Americans and their religion demands that they kill all infidels, especially Americans and Jews. Is that really what you want? And people everywhere are now teaching their kids that any one with a turban and/or Muslim is bad and would be better off dead. Me thinks we had this mentality once before in our history...ask any American Native you see about this little ' historical dust-up".

we are fighting the islamic religion, just like the crusades. whether the are saudi, iraqi, or iranian. there goal is to convert us or destroy us, and i think they would rather do the later. i realize there are extremes to all religions. this religion seems to take the lead in killing. please correct me if in am wrong.

Oldtimer: the terrorists are going to be here since GW seems to forget its his sworn duty to secure our borders from foreign invaders and put any restrictions on who/what comes and goes essentially unmonitored
Gotta agree with you here, OT. Too many politicians on both sides of the aisle spend more time pandering to Hispanic voters than they do worrying about terrorists coming across our “Swiss cheese” borders. Did you see the Democrat debates the other night that were broadcast in Spanish? Did I see several shades of red? Oh, Yeah!!!

Kola: First off the terrorists won't plunge into the sea like lemmings and yes it's GW's fault as he attacked the WRONG country and made a happy place for any & all terrorists to evolve.
I didn’t say the terrorists would plunge into the sea. I said they would follow us home and kill us here like they have so many times in the past. 911 wasn’t the first time Muslim extremists have attacked us. Democrat presidents couldn’t keep them from killing Americans. The failure of weak-kneed Democrats to act on those acts of terrorism merely emboldened the terrorists to move on to even more horrific acts, which led us to September 11, 2001. Take off those rose colored (pinko?) glasses and read some history.

Kola: I don't say turn the other cheek...I say if you've got to attack....attack the RIGHT country!!!
And pray tell, which country would that be? Iran maybe? Not a bad idea! That might head off our next Waterloo and it would certainly help us out in Iraq.

Kola: And people everywhere are now teaching their kids that any one with a turban and/or Muslim is bad and would be better off dead. Me thinks we had this mentality once before in our history...ask any American Native you see about this little ' historical dust-up".
Sorry, Kola. Speaking as one with a good sized dose of American Indian blood, your theory is all wet, although it does seem to be the current liberal stance. My ancestors all tried to kill each other, white and Indian alike. There were more Indians killed by other Indians in this country before the white men got here than the largest number ever killed by white folks. Same thing in Europe, slaughter by people from opposing tribes has gone on for centuries regardless of their race. Africa is another good example that blows a hole in your “racist” theory.
