The hippies and lib peaceniks, with the help of the media, snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in Vietnam, resulting in massive, massive killings; the same thing that they are trying to accomplish in Iraq.

techincaly we didn't win the Korean war considering there was only a cease fire and we are really still at a state of war.

If we get down to technicalities- actually both those wars were U.N. wars- and the UN lost them... We lost much of our Constitution given states rights during the Civil War.....

i agree! having spent time in nam, we fought two enemies, the one that was coming at us head on (Cong) and the ones at home that were stabbing us in the back(at home)

the same thing is happening in Iraq but the results will be much worse if we back out of Iraq like we did in nam!
the radicals in Iraq will not stop if we leave, it will not be long until they are over here killing on OUR SOIL and the price we will pay for the libbies, peace nics and their ideals will be more costly that any other war waged :cry2:

Not being American, and I was a preteen and teenager at the time of Vietnam...I always was disgusted in how the American soldiers were treated by some thier own Countrymen during that war,it was one thing to not support it but another to treat the soldiers like garbage,I'm sorry you felt that MMP :(

thanks Mrs Greg

fortunately the soldiers today are not getting treated badly by the folks back home YET but i know from talking to some of them during my sessions at the VA they feel a good many who claim the support the solders but do not support the war are doing as much or more damage
to moral that anything else! kinda like talking out of both sides of the mouth while wielding a knife in one hand and an olive branch in the other

I think we lost the civil war with 600,000 dead out of a much, much smaller population. There are people still mad about that war after almost years. I think both sides lost.

Clinton also cut and ran from Somalia after failing to provide armor support in the battle of Mogadishu.

I guess Carter lost the war in Iran and Reagan left Lebanon.
