VALENTINE, Neb. (AP) - When you live to be 113, living is an achievement.
No one knows that better than Helen Stetter.
The resident of Pine View Good Samaritan Center in Valentine will rank among the oldest 125 people in history when she celebrates her 113th birthday tomorrow.
She already is believed to be the oldest living Nebraskan, the fifth-oldest living American and the ninth-oldest person alive in the world today.
A relative, Bob Stetter, said he recently asked her how she was doing. She responded -- quote -- "As far as I know, I'm in pretty good shape."
Helen Stetter was born in Chadron. She never married and never had a driver's license.
