If you do get pre-calving vaginal prolapse, I'd recommend a prolapse repair kit which allows you to pin the stuff in instead of sewing her shut. It's quick and easy and saves a lot of worry about watching for the calf to come. After she calves, you can just remove the pin.

we've only had 3 or 4 in the hystery of the place-a couple of them were out in the bush and got Dr's Remington and Winchester to attend to them. It's truly a labor of love to see a cow stitched up before calving and her owner watching like a hawk to cut the stitches just as she calves.

Agree!! It's amazing how some will spend time, effort and $ on problems when the cull truck would solve them all. Hey, I wonder if there is a cull truck for burocrats that have outlived their usefulness??
