OK we are sorry it's been so long. Things here are busy and Hanna is a mover and shaker. No down time really except for bedtime and by then I'm exhausted I'm always ready for bed Long before she is!!!!
We have been keeping ourselves busy with our P.T And O.T (physio therapy in the morning and Occupational therapy in the afternoon.) Usally and hour each time. An hour of heavy duty work outs,... Or more like heavy duty play time. They are so good at turning everything into a game.
Hanna has been spending more time in the standing frame, Usally playing with "claydough". she likes it. Work, it just doesn't seam like it. She also has been working hard at balancing. She sits on a bench and shoots hoops and when that gets to easy they make her sit on an air pillow, it's like sitting on a balloon. Makes it harder to balance, and she does well with it.
She also has to build puzzles, they spread the pieces all over the mat and she has to reach and stretch to get everything together to do the puzzle. It works on her mobility, more work disguised as fun.
She also has to do lifts, Lifting her bum up high so that she'll one day be able to do transfers by herself. From chair to couch chair to bed stuff like that.
Today was also a big day. Hanna got to ride a bike. It was VERY cool!!! It had hand pedals instead of handlebars. We'll take a picture tomorrow and post it for you all to see. I've contacted the company to see if we can't get her one before spring. She Loved it.
When we were at home this weekend we went to the ski hill and Hanna got to ski... Kind of. James MacRae took her up to the top of the hill and a skidoo and Leslie Ann and I took turns piggy backing her down. She was nervous at first but was in like Flynn after the first couple of runs. THANK YOU JAMES AN LES!!! We are looking into getting some sit skis for next year!!!
She also got to see some of her friends over the weekend Danielle and Lexi, she was super excited and has talked non stop about them since she even said she WANTS to go to school.
The weekends are fantastic and with everyone, it becomes harder and harder to come back up here. Hopefully we'll be home for good soon, still no word about that unfortunately.
We're still at the Glenrose, if your in the city and want to drop by feel free, We're home every weekend if you want to drop by for a coffee(or beer:)) and a visit. Hanna would love to show off her wheelies and other cool tricks. Bye for now we'll try to be more efficient with the updates from now on SORRY
With Love As Always Jodi and Hanna

Man that little girl hates her meds, tastes nasty even covered in the Vanilla pudding I ran uptown to get. By the end it was a toss up who was crying harder,me or Hanna  Gregs got an appointment with a saddle making buddy,so they can work together on Hannas saddle, should be interesting to see if they can find HOT PINK leather :D

hello everyone sorry it's been so long,
Hanna has been very busy, we were home all last week and it was great, great, great!!!!! We did nothing really amazing but it was wonderful to just be at home.
However since we've been back it's time to get down to business! We went yesterday for a urodynamics test (bladder). And today we looked into getting her her very own hand cycle. The company that builds them set up shop in the gym here this afternoon.
After the bike we went shopping for our very own wheelchair. They are kind of like cars, many models with many options. Hanna is a bit like me in the fact that all she cares about is the fact that it should be nauseously pink and have wheels that light up when she wheels:) really who needs comfort when it LOOKS great....Kinda like 4 inch stilettos, hot but not exactly smart.
Imagine trying to be the voice of reason in that discussion! :) We took her physio therapist with us. So between her and Hanna, I'm certain, that she will have a fully functional, super cool, totally blinged out, chair. That would make ANY 4 year old jealous. Possibly even keep her two older brothers out of it.
Tomorrow we get our RGO...(Walking brace) Hanna will take her first steps since the accident. I'm nervous a box of Kleenex will be a must! She thinks they are going to try to make her do stairs. I'm hoping for the best! we'll keep you posted.
With Love as Always Jodi & Hanna.

If nothing else just go to Lily's boot maker and order that shade of "red" they used on her boots..

Glad to hear Hanna is doing good...

Thank you for the update, things do seem to be more positive with her being able to start walking with the frame so soon afte the accident. Hanna remains on our daily prayer list, we are really trusting for a miracle for her.

Mrs. Greg,
It should be real easy to order hot pink leather for the saddle. Around here hot pink, lime green, purple, any imaginable color that's wild is available on the seat of a barrel saddle. They even have it in ostrich skin. Really blinged out. LOL
Glad to get the update on Hanna, sounds like she's had quite a fun week at home. We'll keep her in our prayers that things keep movin right along in the right direction for her.

And Greg...yer such a good uncle!!!!!!

Wonderful news that Hanna is making such leaps in progress. I had to google what an RGO was and found this site with a picture

What an amazing invention that is. To be able to stand alone again after all the time Hanna has had to lie or sit down will surely be an exciting day.
Go Hanna!
nr....I didn't think of goggling the RGO,kinda knew what it entailed but seeing the picture :cry2: :cry2: :cry2: Oh to see her stand again, and even walk

Hello
We have our RGO and Hanna is a walker......Kind of, We're learning. It's a tricky thing to maneuver. I'm not sure where Hanna gets her drive because by the time she was done physio yesterday she was red in the face and actually had head sweat!!! She works so hard and I'm so proud of her, She never complains, or quits. It truly is hard work, I know I would have given up.
I know I keep promising pictures but this afternoon for sure and I'll write more then. Bye for now Jodi And Hanna

I take walking so for-granted until I hear about people like Hanna having to relearn it using a completely different process. What an impact she must have on all those who meet her.

Those Fancy folk were guided to Hanna through a pretty special roper-engineer guy :)

You know, our family always knew Hanna had stamina, from day one she was her own person.......to say Hanna inspires each one of our family would be a huge understatment, its more like we're awestruck.

Jodi also sells herself short, the drive in Hanna is her moms birth gift to her :)
