Analysis: Obama may learn from slips on stimulus

It's a work in progress. Well what do you know, you finally admit it!

It's not the time for inexperience, but good luck with that!

What are his policies, where will he have the country in 5 years. As bad as his educators, the socialists were, at least they had a 5 year plan

Is he flying by the seat of his pants, or will he let us know.

Reader, can you ask someone in DC, when are we going to get a straight answer, and when can we start investing our money in this "depression", as he calls it.

If Bush hadn't caused all this trouble, I might just invest in the future, but we're doomed! Am I going to pay for doomed banks or not?

Where is my money going, that's all I want to know, I don't want to hear about FDR causing this or fixing that, where is my money going?

What is this Presidents plan, can you tell me Reader? If not, how do you know he is going to be a good President?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think McCain had any executive experience either.

Obama hasn't made any serious judgement mistakes, he's just getting his feet wet in a different branch of the government.

Or are you hinting that Palin, with her wealth of executive experience, could have helped to guide McCain better in his dealings with Congress?

Do you want Bush back? He failed. What do you want? Just to yap?

Nope!, but that would be better than a President that stands in front of a crowd, and crows "I won"

His Arrogance, and his inexperience is showing!

Isn't that what others have faulted Bush on?

Obama hasn't made any serious judgement mistakes,

He has let the people down how many times now on honesty and transparency "miscues"? That's judgement!

He stands up on the bully pulpit, with a rehearsed speech, written by Axel, and puts on a smile. Uses the media and internet to preach CHANGE, HOPE etc.

And all the while he is just as bad as the Guy, who he does not have the integrity to mention in those same speeches when he calls out his mistakes!

All the while, he will call out a private citizen, (RusH) for disagreeing with him. Does that mean the normal citizen, cannot disagree? With out being ridiculed?

Give your head a shake, liberals portray everyone to be either a victim or a fearmonger.

But it is okay for your "Messiah" to stand up and ask for "CHANGE< if it's his way", with the fear of economic collapse.

Go ahead and attack me, Reader, Alice and OT, all you'are doing is attacking a great citizen, that is willing to ask for honesty, integrity, and real change from the "normal"

And you think Obama has a Messiah complex?

Beyond "exposing hypocrites" on a backwater cattle-politics board, what else is on your citizen resume?

You know what Badaxe, I don't give a rip what your politics are or aren't, but I'd really appreciate if you'd stop calling Ranchers a "backwater cattle board, and all the rest of the things you've called it, if its so dumb and small time, why are you here?

Badaxe, "what else is on your citizen resume?"

Freedom of speech, might be one, if Obama doesn't distort the Constitution too much.

Individualism, for another, if you liberals don't conform to "Group think"

Personal safety, if we don't give up the right to ask who is coming to this country!

The ability to generate money, and pump this into the economy

Taxes on everything I've earned, that slows me down a bit, don't take my retirement away from me, or somebody else will be paying for it!

What else do you want Badaxe?

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

I like backwaters. I never said they were "dumb".

Grew up in one. Choose to live in one. Not comfortable anywhere else.

And a whole lot of "small time" adds up to "big time".

But if hypocriteexposer is claiming the mantle of great citizen by making serial political pandering to some of the resident wingnuttery here, I think he should look for a larger stage.

Thanks for your concern, but I think this IS probably about politics, and that is okay.

What are you doing besides posting here to protect all of those things?

I wasn't the one claiming to be a "great citizen".

But I do vote in every election.

I've run for county office.

I frequently call my elected officials on matters I find important.

I worked in the public sector even when I was offered more in the private.

I've met as with the Secretary or Agriculture, my U.S. Senator, my U.S. Representative (this one on our farm) and other decision makers to lobby for changes in the farm bill.

I started a local foods initiative in my community.

I co-led a mostly successful effort to stop a hog factory from being built.

I try to be a careful land steward.

I shop local whenever possible.

I might be a little above average in terms of civic engagement, but I'd never call myself a "great citizen".

What do you actively do to earn that title?

And thank you for what you are doing, locally! What are you doing to "test" our newly elected President? Is that a nobel goal, or do we just lay down and let the media tell us he's doing "a great job"

I try to respect others' points of view on public forums! And promote the US, no matter what, whether we've had a poor President in the past or not. I try to CHANGE the future, by allowing people to think about the consequences or their decisions. Are you looking to have an impact on the future or the past?

Obama doesn't even agree with you on this statement Or didn't you hear him saying he made a big mistake nominating and supporting Daschle the tax cheat and how he shouldn't be sending a message of two sets of rules.

Then you have his judgement in asking Pelosi to write the Stimulus bill that turned out to be a Pork filled pay back bill that is falling in the polls like a rock the more people find out whats in it.

Wow, for someone who has been in office 2 weeks, he has made huge mistakes. You really haven't seen them? Really?

Are you kidding me?

You call not vetting as thoroughly as he should of a couple of appointees "huge mistakes"?

Where have you been the last eight years?

Talk about making mountains out of molehills.

A COUPLE

Geithner, tax cheat with illegal employee was supported by Obama even after he was found out
Daschle, tax cheat who unofficially lobbied on behalf of his Medical buddies who gave him his car and driver, was supported by Obama even after he was found out
Richardson was being investigated by the FBI when Obama nominated him
William Lynn, deputy Defense secretary nominee, and 16 other lobbyists were appointed by Obama but there was to be no room for lobbyist in Obama's government
Nancy Killefer, tax cheat backed out on her own after she was found out
Rep. Hilda Solis the Labor nominee's Husband has Tax problems but she is still being supported by Obama
Obama's appointee for CIA Director Leon E. Panetta was paid more than $700,000 last year by businesses including struggling US banks bailed out by billions of dollars of taxpayers' money. But he is still Obama's nominee for CIA.
And these are the only ones we know about now. You know it's bad when the New York Times is starting to comment on Obama's picks. All we hear from Gibbs is how high the ethical standards are for people working in Obama's government BULL.

Not vetting these people properly is not the only problem, it's Obama's continued support of them after the truth came out that sent the message of two sets of rules and there was room for lobbyists in Obama's government.

They must have vetted them correctly cause you know of all this.

If they HAD NOT done the vetting correctly....you'd never heard of any of this.

You get mad if they find something....and would get mad if they didn't.

You can't have it both ways...................

Yep, I'm thinking it snowed again at the BMR homeplace again today.

I'm not going to address all of them. The Lynn appointment bothered me. I think Daschle made an honest, but very politically stupid mistake.

But Solis? Are you kidding?

Her nomination isn't being held up because of a small lien on her husband's business, it's because she scares the bejesus out of the anti-union corporatists.

I am looking forward to her appointment.

The revolving door needs to be nailed shut. Overall, Obama has made some good movement in that direction, even though his record clearly isn't perfect.

Tells us after his so called vetting process found these tax cheats and lobbyist why didn't Obama tell them sorry but I can't continue to support you? There is where Obama's problems lie, he still supported them even after he and the world knew the truth. Geithner is now running the department he CHEATED with the full support of OBAMA.

You and you Press agent can't claim to have high ethical standards then support the nomination of tax cheats. You can have it both ways

Reader, the piece you posted was a complete one-sided spin job...where was ONE quote from a Republican explaining their disagreement with the Porkulus bill???? If all you do is read/listen to one side, you will only know half the information...and it shows.

Obama saying that Bush's economic policies hadn't worked and implied they were the cause of the present economic troubles is an outright lie! The tax cuts brought the country back from 9/11 and had unemployment at record low levels until the last quarter. This economy was brought on by the credit melt-down because of Democrat housing policy carried out by Fannie and Freddie. I'll give you that the Republicans and Bush didn't do anything to stop it.
