All better:

We were pretty lucky I guess, we put this machine back to work 2 hrs after it left it's feet. Fortunately the operator was belted in and unhurt (other than his pride), and no damage to the machine.

A new pair of britches was likely neccesary. Positively if I'd a been driving. Glad nobody got hurt and the dozer escaped without major damage too.

You are very lucky to still be around to do the paperwork. Two thoughts come to mind: "All is well that ends well," and, "anything that doesn't kill you makes you a better person." Glad you are still here to tell the tale, Silver.

Oh, I wasn't the fella in the seat Soap, I was the dumb schmuck that sent him up there and then had to anwer for my sins :(
The guy in the seat had 30 yrs experience and had never tipped a machine. This was kind of a bad deal. We are upgrading an old road, and there are often surprises involved working around projects of yester year. In this case the cause of our misfortune was an old excavation where it appears that in times gone by a loader had been sneaking dirt out of the bush, probably to repair the road. The resulting excavation was grown over, and then covered by the fallen trees. As the operator was working on that slope the trees under the cat and over the old excavation gave way on the low side and resulted in an "incident"
Accidents happen fast, and it was a good reminder to take nothing for granted.

I wonder if he was pushing dirt instead of piling brush he would have stayed on 2 tracks.

I bet the operator was a little upset with himself for a few minutes anyway.
