Who is Sandra Fluke?

Did I miss the deadline for alternative opinions on Sandra Fluke?

What with liberal women constantly talking about their vaginas suddenly pretending to be offended by the word "slut," and conservatives pretending to be as pussified as liberals about the nasty names they've been called, I never got an answer to the most pressing question about Sandra Fluke: Who are you again?

Was Fluke dragged out of obscurity after the women of America took a vote and chose her as our spokeswoman? Please, Sandra, we know how deeply private, publicity-shy and terribly busy with law school you are, but we need you to speak for us!

I don't think that happened. Rather, Fluke is the latest in a long line of my absolute favorite liberal typology: hysterical drama queens.

From Murphy Brown to the Jersey Girls, Cindy Sheehan, Joe Wilson and the New School's Jean Rohe, these fantasists inject themselves into a boiling-hot public debate and then claim victim status when anyone criticizes them.

At least since I've been keeping score, liberals had their first brush with the dark night of fascism in 1992, when Dan Quayle said of a fictional TV character: "It doesn't help matters when prime-time TV has Murphy Brown ... mocking the importance of fathers by bearing a child alone and calling it just another lifestyle choice."

Suddenly, it was 1939 Germany and multimillionaire Hollywood elites were the Jews.

At the Emmy Awards ceremony that year, the creator of "Murphy Brown," Diane English, took the occasion to say: "I would like to thank our sponsors for hanging in there when it was getting really dangerous."

Really dangerous? You want "really dangerous"? Try being a pedestrian crossing Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica when Diane English is being driven to the airport! (A year earlier, English's husband mowed down the matriarch of Santa Monica's Chez Jay, killing her, while driving his wife to the airport.)

Marge Tabankin, executive director of the Hollywood Women's Political Committee, said: "The community feels targeted. It's created a chill and fear reminiscent of the '50s. Let's face it: We feel we're being used as whipping boys."

Yes, Hollywood liberals have got balls to spare, and that's why I admire them so much.

But the Academy Award winners of liberal martyrdom are the Dixie Chicks. In 2003, Chick Natalie Maines sucked up to a Bush-hating London audience by saying, "Just so you know, we're ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas."

What an odd coincidence that the only city Maines attacked Bush in was London! In a way, it was lucky for the band that, in their entire 60-city world tour, Maines claimed to be embarrassed by Bush only in London and not, say, Lubbock, Texas.

But at least we had heard of Murphy Brown and the Dixie Chicks before they demanded we all stand in awe of their raw courage.

Fluke was an absolute nobody who simply thrust herself into the limelight. She's more the Jean Rohe iteration of the liberal drama queen.

Rohe, you will recall, was the student speaker at the 2006 New School commencement proceedings, who bravely insulted the official speaker, Sen. John McCain.

As Rohe described her decision to attack the invited speaker, every person she talked to the day before the ceremony hated McCain with blind fury. At two graduation ceremonies a day earlier, attacks on McCain brought wild cheers from the audience.

Rohe's resolve to tell the audience what it wanted to hear was only hardened when she was told there would be media at the event.

Sensing that fake heroism was within her grasp, Rohe explained: "It was something I didn't want to do, but knew I had to out of an obligation to my own values" -- such as the value of being popular, of getting a standing ovation and of being praised for her courage.

Liberals' idea of questioning authority is to check with the authorities to see if a "Question Authority" bumper sticker would be popular.

So, back to Fluke: Who is she, and how did she become the spokesperson for American womanhood? If we're allowed to submit names, I think we can do better than a Georgetown law student whose claim to fame is that she belongs to a college club on "reproductive justice."

Pursuing a typical path to liberal heroics, Fluke was an utter nobody whom the Democrats substituted in a last-minute witness-switch to testify about contraception -- as if her haircut isn't birth control enough -- at a hearing on "religious liberty."

Despite her credentials as a heretofore unheard-of "birth control activist," the Oversight and Government Reform Committee declined to accept this 11th-hour witness on the grounds that Fluke did not have appropriate credentials for any congressional hearing, much less one on religious liberty.

That was the Republicans' first foray into "silencing" Fluke's "voice."

Nancy Pelosi used an even less appropriate committee to ensure that Fluke's "voice" would be heard -- the Democrats' Steering and Policy Committee, the normal function of which is to give House Democrats committee assignments.

One longtime Democratic operative admitted privately that Fluke was the least-qualified witness ever to appear before a congressional committee.

As a result of the huge commotion the Democrats' made of Fluke's "testimony," she was ridiculed the same way people in ridiculous situations often are. She was called some mean names: "slut," "prostitute," "law student" ...

In full indignation, Fluke said her critics were trying "to silence women's voices." She said this on ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, NPR and a number of other national media outlets.

Thus, Fluke became a liberal hero even braver than an actress standing up for abortion rights in front of a Bill Maher audience.

President Obama called Fluke and told her that her parents should be proud of her and to make sure she was OK. Hillary Clinton said conservatives were trying to control women. Bill Clinton called her to see if she had any plans for the weekend.

(Fluke seems to be holding up wonderfully under the nightmare of constant TV appearances. In fact, if I didn't know better, I'd think she's enjoying herself tremendously.)

I don't care what liberals believe. Just please stop telling me they're courageous for saying exactly what every non-Fox media outlet in America is dying to hear, or I'll throw up harder than Rick Santorum did when he read John F. Kennedy's speech.

Glad to see at least one DEMOCRAT realized she wasn't qualified to be considered an EXPERT. To bad Pelosi pimped her out for the cause anyway.

Why too bad for Pelosi :???:  ...This has become the biggest boon the Dems could ask for- especially with Rush blowing it all out of shape ....
Its put Americans right to practice birth control and use contraception right out in the forefront where Dems want it- because the far rights and Repub candidates like Santorum's beliefs go against the practices of 90% of the country-- and just like Palins birth control and sex education beliefs ran Repubs/moderates/independents/Libertarians to Obama last election- if Dems can keep this issue hot- it will do the same for them again...

you just keep thinking that OT.

This sideshow of the Dems. has only begun to backfire

You and the Democrats may believe that women are stupid enough not to see through this for what it is, but the majority of us don't

From CBS
A Southern state win for Mitt Romney was not to be tonight: with a coalition of voters much like those that propelled him to victory in Tennessee and Oklahoma, Rick Santorum won the Alabama primary with support from conservative voters, evangelicals, lower income voters and women.

He received strong support from evangelical voters - a group he also won overwhelmingly in Tennessee and Oklahoma. Evangelical voters made up 75 percent of primary voters in Alabama, and Santorum won 35 percent of their vote.
Santorum also won among Alabama's most conservative voters. Among the 36 percent of voters who described themselves as very conservative, 41 percent voted for Santorum. Gingrich received 36 percent of their vote. Santorum also won among conservatives overall, who comprised two in three Alabama primary voters.
Santorum won among women too, with 38 percent. Men chose Gingrich. Santorum has fared well with women in some recent contests, winning the women's vote in Tennessee and Oklahoma.
Thirty-seven percent of Alabama primary voters had incomes of $50,000 or less; those voters supported Santorum too (as they have in Oklahoma, Tennessee, Ohio and Michigan).

Americans Strongly Oppose Obama Mandate, New Poll Shows

by Steven Ertelt | Washington, DC | LifeNews.com | 3/13/12 11:35 AM

New polling released by New York Times/CBS finds Americans strongly oppose the new HHS mandate and favor a broad exemption for religious groups and employers who do not want to pay for birth control drugs or drugs that may cause abortions.

The new survey reveals that, by a 50-41 percentage point margin, Americans say all employers should not have to cover birth control or potentially abortion-causing drugs while a larger 57-36 percentage point margin say religious employers should not be forced to provide coverage

(CBS News) President Obama's approval rating has hit the lowest level ever in CBS News polling, according to the latest CBS News/New York Times survey.

Backlash begins over rampage against conservatives
Anthony Martin
Conservative Examiner

Today there is evidence that the rampage against conservatives during the past week in response to Rush Limbaugh's sharply worded criticism of Sandra Fluke, the law school student who advocated for free birth control, has resulted in a backlash.

Limbaugh had stated on his radio show that Fluke had made a prostitute of herself by allowing Democrats in Congress and the Obama Administration to use her as a paid shill for free contraception, free abortion pills, and other healthcare provisions the Administration is attempting to force on religious organizations.

Immediately liberals attempted to make political brownie points, misconstruing Limbaugh's words by claiming that the talk show host had called Fluke a 'whore' and a 'prostitute.' The critics conveniently failed to provide the context in which the words were used.

Advertisers on the Limbaugh radio show began to pull their ads in protest, including such well known names as Carbonite, Legal Zoom, AOL-Huffington Post, Quicken Loans, Sleep Train, Sleep Number, ProFlowers, and Citrix, among others.

A move by some high profile Democrats both in and out of government is underway to get the FCC to remove Limbaugh from the radio airwaves altogether.

And Leftwing attorney Gloria Allred stated that Limbaugh should be placed under arrest.

But as of today the hoop la has appeared to be nothing more than over reach as reports have surfaced that at least two of the sponsors who dropped Limbaugh now want back on the show.

Further, American Thinker is reporting today that Sandra Fluke has close connections to the White House and is being represented by attorney Anita Dunn, former Obama Communications Director who infamously stated in a speech that Chairman Mao, the Communist dictator who murdered 50-70 million Chinese in his reign of terror, was her role model.

Fluke had stated that as a law school student at Georgetown University's School of Law she could not afford her birth control pills, although they are available for nine dollars a month at a local pharmacy. But apparently Fluke had enough money to take cross country flights to see her boyfriend.

Ironically, Fluke's boyfriend happens to be the son of a wealthy Democratic donor who has close ties to the White House.

But the Fluke story is not the only one that seems to be backfiring on liberals this week.

Fox News reporter and host Greta Van Susteren informed her TV show audience that she planned to boycott the annual Radio and Television Correspondents Dinner in Washington, D.C. The reason? Leftwing comedian Louis C.K., who engaged in rabid, hate-filled misogyny aimed at Sarah Palin, was scheduled to perform at the dinner. He has now been forced to cancel his appearance due to the boycott.

And finally, reports indicate that the White House is under increasing intense pressure to return a million dollar donation given to the Obama campaign by Leftwing comedian Bill Maher. Maher has been under fire for his references to Sarah Palin using the most despicable and deplorable terms possible.

Conservatives have maintained that the words used by Rush Limbaugh to describe Sandra Fluke are mild compared to the manner in which Maher referred to Palin. This, in fact, is true. There is no comparison. The words are too vile to put even in a news story.

Thus, the double standard has been on full display as liberals explode into their faux righteous indignation over a description of a paid shill, while they fully embrace and praise someone like Bill Maher who will stoop all the way into the sewer itself in order to smear the name of a woman of impeccable character such as Sarah Palin.

But the common folk in the heartland are waking up to the hypocrisy. Thus, the backlash is fully under way.

Examiner.com

You might want to spin it Oldtimer but the polls tell a different story. Santorum is gaining support among women, People don't like Obama's mandate, Obama has hit a new low in the polls and there is a BACKLASH to your kind of Conservative bashing.

She'll probably marry into the 1%, but needs you to pay for her birth control

In summary (with bold for emphatic inflection): Sandra Fluke is a 30 year old leftist activist, attending Georgetown University, whom the Dems tried to inject, via non-sequitur, into Issa's hearing about Obamacare's encroachment upon religious freedoms, protected by the Establishment Clause in the 1st Amendment. Her boyfriend, Adam Mutterperl, is the son of one of the most well-connected leftist Jewish families on the East Coast (add the West Coast to that, apparently), with ties to neo-Marxist Brandeis University as decades old donors… and whose father, Bill Mutterperl, worked directly for Paul Volcker, one of Obama's pals, advisors, and Keynesian "stimulus" bill architects. Yet, we're supposed to believe that this just boils down to a poor girl needing us to "subsidize" her birth control. RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!

All of this is simply a smokescreen to keep the conversation away from the fact that Obama does not have the constitutional authority to mandate that a private business has to provide a good/service.

There is no war against women's rights. There is no war against contraception. All of this is pure bullshit from a dishonest political machine that is promoting an illegal agenda. Democrats are doing no less than LYING to the American people as they trash the constitution.
