Looks like a good capable crew on a nice Nebraska day. Branding is one thing that I always look forward to, and then I am glad it is over. At least on our own operation. Your way of doing it has less stress involved than doing them all in one day. Good pictures. :)

Great pics. Wish i was there.

Glad you found a shirt without a hole for today. :D

I just wish a feller could find a shirt that would hide a big belly. Gloves held in a strategic place don't help, either.

Guess that is why we do it this way. We always used to brand on two days, a week apart. It was always a big hassle moving cattle around to get ready for these days. We traded help with about a dozen other ranches, and I always ended up hiring quite a few high school kids to come and wrestle calves both days. To be truthful, it was a pain that I don't miss.

The fun of going to other brandings for me has lost its glamour. It's just another job, which can be enjoyable on a nice day and no fun at all on a windy dusty day. Now we can pick our days according to the weather report.

Is that fellow standing next to Saddletramp his twin brother? :D

They sure do look alike, don't they? I was thinking they must be at the very least, related.......love the Wild Ass shirt he's got on, too. Those shirts seem to be very comfy, and last forever almost. Hubby has worn those off and on for all our married life.....you can get them from Bailey's.......

Great pics, once again, Soap. Just wondering who you entrusted with your camera, so we got to see a pic of you?

These gentlemen are not related, though they are both "poets" in their own right. Saddletramp puts cowboy happenings in poetry form on paper. The other fellow uses his poetic ability to turn wind into water. He works on windmills, and does a mighty fine job of it. He and his daughter came by yesterday morning, and I confiscated their abilities to help us brand. He has cowboyed through the years, and does a fine job of that also. His daughter is a hard-working young lady, and has Fridays off to help her dad because the school she goes to only has a four day week.
