Kajly is a sleepy little mare but she can sure put a move on a cow. Might have something to do with her double bred Peppy San poppa.

Thanks BMR. Why do you ride with the halter under the bridle?
Oh, I know, so you can tie your horse up.

I've seen that on sheepherders horses in Wyoming. :lol2: :lol2:

Wow, Those lilies are beautiful. I've never seen them before.

Your cows look good and so does the grass.
And I like your dogs.

You know me, Haymaker always claimed i was a sheep herder.

We start our colts in the round pen with those halters and just progress from there, When moving cows the bridle came apart on the palomino and I just rode her with the halter.

I just had to razz you a little...

Sometimes I think I've seen about everything. (But of course I haven't). Case in point tho, you know that little bit you have on the bay with
the teardrop shanks? I saw a team roper use that bit, only he had
the headstall in the teardrop part and the reins attched where the
headstall should have been attached. In other words, HE HAD THE
BIT IN UPSIDE DOWN.

Well NR we have trees to tie up to unlike SE Montana

I always figured maybe it was a brush country thing, we often ride with the halter under the bridle here too, and ALWAYS when packing/hunting in the mountains.
Besides, I grew up using a hackamore, if I dont have that lead shank wrapped around the saddle horn I feel lost.

BMR, your country looks great wow, but I recall your "before" pictures of last winter, it seems they were all in "white" with no color :D I have been offline for awhile, glad to see your place is doing well. We have had the backside of a couple thunderstorms and the grass started to come, but have had 10 days of over 100 degrees, so thats the rest of the story.
