Another exciting morning on the ranch

As most of you know, we train bird dogs and have a kennel. As with most things on a ranch...it tends to have mice in it occasionally :? When we built it we had that spray foam insulation put in it (which for some reason mice like). The mice chew it up and then it plugs up the gutter, the kennel has it's own septic tank. We had a piece of sheet rock up behind a wood stove and the mice had gotten between the sheetrock and the foam and really set up shop! So we took it down...YUCK :!: Tunnels, nests, dogfood, and mice everywhere  So got it all cleaned up, then the gutter plugged up.

Of course a septic tank full of dog doo doo does not smell real good. I was the lucky one to run the plumbers snake up the pipe till we got all the foam, dog hair and guck out of the line.

Then I got to go under the house cause we also had a mouse problem in the house (wall somehow got pushed out enough for mice to come in  . So I crawled around putting in steel wool and spray foam everywhere I could. Almost got stuck once (and I'm not very big), the flashlight quit on me. And I ended up with foam all over me (hard to spray it when you're under a house with very little room and can't see what you're doing) in my hair, on my clothes and all over my arms.

Just another day on the ranch :)

Well, it really didn't bother me that much...and I'm the only one that would fit under there! What were they thinking when they built it???

I think she flew the coop too

I sent Cowgirl over to my cousin....not rich but a sure enough rancher. They made contact but he says he's not heard a peep since from her.

So I'd say she either got PO'ed or found her man somewhere else.

Mike - Pointers of course...is there any other kind. Just kidding :) We train all pointing breeds but mostly pointers and setters, some shorthairs and brittneys. Mike's dad was the top Shorthair trainer in the country in the 70's and 80's so Mike grew up helping then training on his own. We field trialled All Age Pointers up til 3 years ago. Have been to the National in Grand Junction, Tn. twice. We miss trialling and the people we'd see but don't miss being gone for so long, or the politics involved. Some of our very best friends are from Mintor Alabama. We're pretty excited because we sold them a young dog last year and they just qualified her for the National! And her mother is going to have puppies in 2 weeks :)

Speaking of cowgirl; She posted that someone PMed her to warn her about me. That left me somewhat confused. One, why would she need to be warned about me and what sort of warning would that be. What have I done that needs to be warned against?
Another question, who did the warning?
I guess she finely believed us about the work involved in raising cattle. Well I say if she ain’t willing to work then good riddance.

Nicky : You are one brave woman, Any woman that can do that can do anything. You go girl.

That is certainly the truth, Peg4x4. Whenever I see a tv nurse show where the nurses have time to stand around gabbing and arrange their love life
...I'd like to strangle the producer.

Just wondering. I guess you know Colvin and Mazie Davis then?

I've been to "Downtown" Minter, Alabama many, many times.

Yep, those would the freinds I was talking about. And they run the dog I mentioned. Do you know them, do you hunt? I know you said one time you ride at the shooting dog trials. Who else do you know that I might know? We know pretty much all the All Age pros, and alot of amatuers.

We stayed with Davis's in 2000 when we went to the National. Ran in the Free For All at Sedgefield, I've never been so lost trying to scout :? All the pine trees look alike and they go in circles  But it was quite the experience.
