I thought we would save $2,500.00 on Healthcare Insurance?

March 30, 2014 12:52 pm

A leading healthcare expert poured cold water on the administration’s recent Obamacare enthusiasm, saying that three quarters of those signed up will face higher premiums than under their previous insurance.

“Out of people that have signed up about three quarters will find premiums higher than previously with other insurance,” Dr. Toby Cosgrove, CEO of the Cleveland Clinic said on Fox News Sunday.

“Hospitals are going to be paid less for what they do,” Cosgrove continued. “And we also know insurers are paying less too. We have to become more efficient in how we deliver care which is a big change for health care providers.”

It's been awhile since OT tried to defend ObamaCare. Reckon he knows the truth by now?

I heard this morning that another million have PICKED POLICIES on the Obamacare website in the last couple days. Now they are down to cheering those who CALLED, VISITED and PICKED A POLICY, not those that actually PAID THEIR PREMIUMS and plan on paying the second premium when it comes due.

There was a report the other day that said as many as 25% have not paid any premiums as after they "PICKED" their policy the sticker shock stopped them from going to Check out. There are also reports that say some bought and paid the first installment but found they could not afford to keep paying so they have since dropped their policies. How many of the paid but dropped, do you honesty think HHS will report to the media.

There is a very good reason HHS is not telling the truth about the numbers of the PAID UP POLICY HOLDERS, I got a feeling that the Obamacare sign up numbers are going to be A LOT LIKE the unemployment rates just before the Nov 2012 election. ALL LIES as the Obama Administration fudged the numbers to protect Obama and the Dems during their election run. Once the election was over the truth was released saying they fudged the numbers a little to make it look like the economy was recovering. Kind of like they told people they could keep their insurance policies and Doctors. Kind of like they claimed Benghazi was due to a video and not a terrorist attack. People are not going to get the truth about the numbers until after the Nov election is in the books count on it. They might never get them from this Administration, but Obama try as he might will not be able to hide the hikes in Premiums and they will tell just how well his risk pools are doing.

Another thing people will never be told is just how many of those that "PICKED" policies, lost their previous policies due to Obama and his backslapping Dems. or how many of those that "PICKED" policies are those that were in the class Obama turned the whole system upside down for, those without insurance.

You know you are not getting the truth when the Dems up for election are proposing big changes to Obamacare to protect their political careers. But until they can convince Harry "I did not call them all lies" Reid to actually hold a vote on their Obamacare amendments they might as well be spitting into the wind.

A sophomore in HS told us that they've had to watch "Obama Films" lately in school, and one of his supposed goals is to have kids signed up for health care before they can graduate high school.

I'll take what she said at face value, because she's a smart kid and not a liar, but seriously a WTF moment.

If she told you Obama wanted them to sign up for his domestic armed guard he talked about at the Denver DNC convention and Liberal union teachers were promoting the idea through the school classrooms, then I might believe her without so much as a doubt. BUT I thought 26 year olds were allowed to stay on their parents policies, is this another Obamacare LIE? There are so many it is hard to keep track of them all anymore.

I don't think you will find anywhere I said they will save $2500 or any amount... In fact several times I said the initial costs would increase- until they can get everyone onto a healthcare plan- and the resulting advantages of preventive medicine, early diagnosis of diseases before they get chronic or serious (paid annual checkups) , etc., etc take hold....These results/savings will not show up until 10-15 years into the new Health Care/Health Care Insurance plan...
It is a sacrifice I knew and recognized we are taking for the future....
As many a politician during the healthcare debate said with rates/costs growing between 8% and 12% a year- leading to health care spending of 18 percent of our gross domestic product.- "doing nothing was no longer an option"...

Video: 19 Times Obama Promised to Lower Annual Insurance Premiums By $2500

if a company did this it would be heading to court... it is called fraud

In California alone, The Los Angeles Times reports that the average middle class family will see a premium increase of 30%, which is in line with what we are seeing all over the country. But on at least 19 occasions, President Obama promised the American people that if you already have insurance, his plan would reduce your premiums to $2500 per year.

Note: Obama did not say that his plan would save $2500 based on what insurance might cost in 2014. In no way did he qualify or caveat this promise:

no liberal can defend Obama he is lied to this country.. over and over again..

You couldn't be more wrong. Attempts at preventative medicine do not reduce total health care costs that is another lie you have bit on hook, line and sinker.

I guess anything's possible but that's hard to believe (switching to individual and saving money). How many employees? Average age?

While it's been a long time since I was responsible for a pile of employees health insurance, about the only way I could ever lower premiums was to raise deductibles....and I'm talking about examining the offers of assorted companies each year.

Yeah Kola-- its just the card carrying R culters the insurance companies are going to stick it to.... Wink

What is this Oldtimer? Is this not you poking fun at the Republicans because they said there was not going to be any savings on their premiums and you and Kola thinking/saying otherwise? Now you are trying to claim both Dems and Republicans are going to be paying more until things get up and running in about a DECADE AND A HALF. SO much for Obama's promise of saving $2500 per family. :x

Kind of reminds me of the lawyers fighting the tobacco companies.

They were using the premise that health care costs were higher for smokers and they cost the taxpayer $Billions$, but several studies showed that smoker's didn't live as long and that their lifetime health care costs were actually lower.

Just the opposite with preventative care. Might help you live longer, thereby greatly increasing your lifetime healthcare costs...............
