kola--thanks for the heads up!! Watching on CNN now..........deja vu, huh? Didn't they say that the ones that hit the WTC were also "small aircraft" before we knew??!! Reports are "speculating" a small plane or a helicopter!! Let's just pray!!

Sounds like an accident-- Small plane owned by and possibly piloted by Cory Lidle- NY Yankees baseball pitcher.....Anyway they say he was in the plane......

Really? HAdn't heard that about the pithcer being the pilot... It was strange listening to the commentators making up all sorts of plausible possibilities ranging from mechinical problems to suicide (Like that plane in Miami a few years back) to terrorism... Very sad, it sounds like some luck prevailed in that no one in the building was killed.. Still a tragedy for the families to the two occupents of the plane however.

Okay... Never mind.. 4 folks are dead and he was only one in the plane... Get away from the radio for an hour and miss a lot... So sad.

The thing that got me out of watching the whole thing was that they said this was a high rise apartment building- that the apartments sold for $1 million apiece  I wouldn't give you 2 cents to live in one of them......

million bucks for a 800 sq foot apartment... You gotta be kidding me.. There are a few million dollar "homes" around here and they are awesome but they are more like 4000 square feet, with 40 acres of timber and pasture with creek bottoms and horse facilities... Even at that they are silly and 45 minutes from here.... Most million dollar homes around here have about 200-250 acres of farm ground with them and the house is nothing to write home about.

Yeh- I figured I could buy about 5 sections of good grazing around here- and even if it had just an old "soddie" for a house it would be nicer than a high rise Apt....  I never stay in a building higher than I can jump out the window of and live- sometimes limits my motel selections- but I've found many that will accomodate you for a ground or second story room...

MY grand parents will only stay on the first floor of a hotel (If it is an option at least) and my aunt will only stay on any floor but the first... When I am staying in a hotel I am generally just gratfull for a hot shower and a warm bed after a long day driving..

I lived in an apartment outside of Chicago for a year... It was a piece of garbage, windows would barely open, during the witner it was either freezing cold or 100 degrees in the room and the floors needed refinishing in the worst way... On the plus side, at least the rent was unreasonably expensive...

Funny how even in small town America where I am from when the plane hit it was about finding out about it and holding our breath hoping that it wasn't going to repeat.
