Yep I would complain a bit but we always live with the promise of a Chinook. You are welcome to some of our run off.

Gcreek trucks everything in from afar so maybe he could haul some snow on his next trip. With the city nearby and a several gas plants it would be considered acid snow which would include extra nutrients for growing crops.

  That's the first time I've heard swamp grass called that. I believe it will get some mileage here. :D

It turned cold here for about ten days in mid November and we started giving the whole cow herd about 30% feed. We are using some of the good hay and lick tubs to keep up the protein as there is not much green in their rustling this year. The cows at home ran out of grass about a week ago and are on full feed but this bunch is still digging. We sorted 20 thinner "Democrats" out of this bunch Dec 1 and they have been on full feed since then.
Where they are at hasn't been touched in several years and they are cleaning it up very well looking for the fines out of the 2 bales rolled out. We're quite happy as usually when the first hay gets rolled out in cold weather cattle seem to want their full ration every day.
It doesn't look like you have much snow yet either.
