I'm getting kind of tired of sitting these records this year- Second hottest in history- now the driest summer on record......

CLIMATE... THIS SUMMER WILL MOST LIKELY END UP BEING THE DRIEST SUMMER SINCE RECORDS BEGAN IN 1893. AS THIS AFTERNOON...PRECIPITATION SINCE AUGUST 1 HAS TOTALED 1.73 INCHES. THE RECORD LOW FOR JUNE...JULY AND AUGUST IS 1.93 INCHES IN 1930. NORMAL PRECIPITATION FOR THOSE 3 MONTHS IS 5.26 INCHES.

I never like that "cold" word for winter- cause that means 40 below around here-- but I guess we need the snow to get some moisture back...Thats about what everybody up here has been speculating too- many think we could have an early winter also...

Anyway my full hay stackyards sure look good :) - lot of folks up here are short on hay and will be really short if its a rough winter...I heard yesterday that BLM is starting to issue orders to leave pastures early- Oct. 1 instead of Nov 1 for many- some I guess are being told they need to get off right away :( ....

I'm not speculating, but kind of hope this is like the last hot dry year we had a few years ago--Shortly after labor day the weather pattern changed and we had such a wet fall it took weeks to get trucks in for folks to ship calves...Some guys gave up waiting and trailed out 20-40 miles in the cold miserble weather...

I hope your right oldtimer. We got a half an inch a few days ago and we are wet and cool this am. Last I looked we had .50 hundreds. That don't sound like a lot for those east and south of here, but an inch of rain goes a loooonnnngggg ways, around here! :D
